Great tool but PRACTICE FIRST
These things are excellent to fill the gap between spray cans and a real spray gun. Biggest advantage is being able to spray whatever material you want. I just did a 30 sq. ft. piece of floor with a final coat of water-modified polyurethane varnish.Plan to EXPERIMENT before shooting your actual piece. Put the test piece in the same position as your work piece -- horizontal if that's how you'll do the work, etc. If the work's horizontal you may want to use the smaller bottles as they'll make it easier to avoid hitting the work. For slower drying materials runs and sags may be a problem on vertical surfaces: PRACTICE first.READ THE DIRECTIONS because several things in there are not obvious.Spray some solvent (mineral spirits, water, whatever) through your spray unit when done to flush it out so you can re-use.The pattern is round and rather small; there are better spray nozzles out there now and Preval ought to be offering them: A fan pattern would make it easier to get a uniform coat. But by practicing first you can do a good job with these.

it wouldn't work properly
This product would not work properly. My husband and I followed all directions, watched videos and did everything properly. The paint sprayed for 5 seconds, that's it. Then I tried another cylinder, wouldn't work at all. I submitted a customer service complaint form on the company's website a couple of weeks ago and they have not responded. So disappointed. This was a Christmas present and it's finally warm enough where I live to use it outside.

OK, but not great
I tried this product with the goal of spraying nitro lacquer on guitars. The spray pattern is round and not adjustable, and the product is not compatible with the after market nozzles enabling control of the spray pattern.Tests on scraps showed tiger stripping when the light hit the paint at the right angle. When the can starts to be empty, sputtering starts occurring.I did not have any quality issue with the product itself, and it might help in a pinch. But I could not really recommend it for any aesthetically pleasant finish.I spend $225 on a 6-gal 175PSI compressor, a 12oz paint gun and some accessories. The result is perfect. The 6-gal compressor is overkill for a small piece such as a guitar, so if money/space is an issue, a 3-gal should be enough.FYI, I add 1 part lacquer thinner to 4 to 5 parts lacquer when spraying color, and 2 part lacquer thinner for 4 parts lacquer when spraying clear. Lacquer flows easily and I do not have much orange peel.

This is perfect for the job
When painting spindles for a staircase, a brush is ok but you get brush marks ( not acceptable) this kit gives you the tools to make the completed paint project look like smooth plastic finish with no brush marks. AWESOME

Good value. Plenty of combinations to do some experimenting ...
Good value. Plenty of combinations to do some experimenting to figure out what you might want to buy in larger quantities.

but still just as good as they were then
haven't seen them in years, but still just as good as they were then. I needed to repair some rotten wood with wood hardener and the Preval units are the best at getting the hardener into all the grain and hidden spots without investing in a compressor and spray gun. And, no need for cleaning after the stuff hardens....just toss the bottle and the propellant unit and replace it.....
