Convenient Easy-to-Use BUT Didn't Work As Advertized
My review is based only on my initial viewpoint of this device since I immediately installed the units after their arrival. The item arrived on-time in 2 CDs. Package states it takes 7-14 days of continuous use before the rodents move away, and 4 hours of strong sunlight for full recharge; So I intend to submit a followup/ edited initial review in about 14 -21 days for effectiveness and durability. My initial viewpoint, is that the repellent units are easy to use, and installs with no mess. I installed them about every 35'-50' around the edge of the lawn where I have an ongoing problem with moles and especially gophers this year; see the two included photos with pink ribbon at each installed (4) unit; I had just cleaned up 4 gopher / mole mounds that occured within the last 24 hours. I found the units appear of good quality but made of hard plastic; to install the unit's probe into the ground about 8" and prevent any breakage, I pre-punched a hole in the soil where it was moist using a 1" dia wood dowel and hammer; slid the power switch on and green power light turned on, and then gently hand pushed the unit into the hole for a snug fit til the top was within about 2" of the ground per manuf instructions. A beeping sound can be heard about every 20 sec.. Time will tell how well these units work. I was not having success with various mole and gopher traps, poison bait, and mothballs, so, I thought I'd give these devices a try. This is an updated review after about 3 weeks installation of all four units. The all the units charged up via solar light fine and emitted the buzz every few seconds but the moles and gophers kept digging and leaving their mounds as close as 2' to the unit. Also, each clear display over the solar panel developed a mist and small water drops inside the clear cover (between the cover and panel, so there might eventually be a problem with the solar panel obsorbing solar rays and working. I monitored the tunneling and mounding activity only within 35' of the unit since the user manual stated the units would be effective at 100' spacing. Even after 3 weeks, I counted 5 mounds within 35' of a unit. So, I'm going to try to return the units as not working as advertised.

They work!
I was surprises that they ran the moles off! I like that they don’t require batteries!

Works fine but flimsy install design
These seem to work, albeit I did put down poison pellets also. Thing is, pellets have always been hit and miss, and after 3 weeks I've had no new mole trails in the areas covered. This is especially impressive since I've never seen more mole orgy activity ever before! Wow, did they populate this year, my whole back yard next to a field is like walking on a marsh mellow sink-bed!Positives: Radiance of 70' =awesome reach & takes less spikes than competition. Price is competitive. Waterproof design; and I put them thru 3 major thunderstorms plus constant rain for days. Hold their charge in limited light and go off all night. I've checked at 2, 3, 4, and 6 in the morning and they are working. They don't seem to upset pets; just pests!Negatives: audible to the human ear. Cheap plastic spikes won't push into earth: Must make pilot hole for install or risk damage to unit. Removal is difficult, even in wet ground. Trying to remove in most cases will pop off head, and damage if not careful. 1 out of 4 of my first stakes was damaged when received and did not work. Wires were severed and I expect this is what happened to prior buyer and I got a refurb.Good news: The company sent me a replacement 4 pack within 3 days and accepted the prior pack back at their expense. Good Customer Service, and product seems to work. That prompted me to place another order to expand coverage on my whole yard now that I'm a "believer".Tip for install: wet ground and use an old broom handle or tent peg to make pilot hole approx 4-5 inches deep. Tip for removal: Don't pull up with your hands. Loosen dirt with water and grab spike an inch below power head with pliers to easily remove. Pulling with hands is difficult to get your fingers under the head and not damage it or pop it off. Hope this helps.

Seemed to work well but not sure now
Purchased these to get rid of a mole (or multiple?) When I first put them in and flattened out many tunnels while mowing the lawn they really did seem to go away and I was very happy with them.I took them out to aerate my lawn and seed/fertilize etc. in mid Fall and forgot to put them in again for about 2 to 3 weeks. Well they came back with a vengeance so to me it was proof they worked. BUT, I have had them back in for the past month or so and they seem to still be in our yard with new tunnels popping up.I am not sure what changed, what I can do differently or if it was a strange coincidence that it worked initially? So I would say it is worth a shot if you are considering this product because I really do think they worked at first and I just need to figure out why they do not seem to be at this point.

Moles-b-Gone
These seem to work as advertised and I'm happy with the quality. I have a what appears to be a family of moles tunneling under my back yard. I put out underground traps and caught one ( with difficulty). I used a castor oil/soap mixture for months, which worked initially but probably drove them further around the yard. These solar-powered spikes seem to have started working immediately, since I don't see raised soil where there was activity before the spikes went in. I ordered a second set for the front yard.

Much easier than castor oil
Update after 10 days of use, the mole returned and created two large mounds right next to the spikes. Looks like there’s a reason that it’s easier to use these, they don’t work. Changing my review to two stars.Installation was quick and easy. All four worked perfectly after just one hour of charging in the sun. These are much easier to apply than castor oil and work much longer.

Hope it continues to work.
I ordered these to use for a mole or vole problem in my backyard. I haven't seen any recent evidence of new holes dug, so hopefully by spring I can tell if they helped. The buzzing sound is noticeable, but not bothersome to me anyway. I don't know if my neighbors hear it or not.
