The first one I received was broken. Notified the sender they sent another one. This was wasn't broken.Not sure I would use as my main rod but mor of a kids practice one The rod itself is not the best but the casing is pretty good

Works well as designed. All the threads are minimum-metal-condition tolerance, so I had to add a little epoxy to stop some wiggle between the ferro rod and the aluminum receptacle. The O-rings soak up any play in the other joints. Throws sparks as well as my Light My Fire.

This is a poorly-machined Chinese-made replica of Exotac's nanoSTRIKER. If you look through the photos, the user guide even says Exotac and "PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA"! My husband is the person who actually designed this (and all the other) Exotac products and I can tell you that all the genuine products are 100% DESIGNED AND MADE IN THE USA in his facility in Winder, Georgia. The real products are also precision-machined out of a very high grade of aluminum and feature an expensive tungsten-carbide striker that will hold its edge, and are backed by a manufacturer's guarantee. Don't believe what the photocopied paperwork says, this knockoff made of cheap-cheap-cheap materials and not fit for someone to rely on in a survival situation.Please don't support this unethical company in their theft of a small family-owned company's hard work!!

I like this product, but you just need to take time out to really learn how to strike it.

This is not ExoTac-quality construction. The sparks are not very robust, but it does work.
