Definitely a cool feel when I lie down and it's so firm my head stays on top of the pillow (vs sinking down and getting hot like soft pillows); however, it's extremely firm and not comfortable when I sleep on my side. I start out on my back so it works great when I fall asleep. If you sleep on your side you might want to consider how firm this type of pillow is.
