Excellent Photographic Book on Paramount's History
From the same Author's of the equally impressive Early Paramount Studios. Paramount Studios 1940-2000 is an excellent photographic history with many interesting anecdotes about Paramount's rich array of stars. I particularly enjoyed the many rare and candid photos like Victor Mature fighting a lion in the movie Samson and Delilah with the RKO Water Tower visible behind the set and the behind the scenes pictures of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Lucille Ball. A lot of these photos were new to me. Even Mister Paramount himself, former Vice President and Head of Production Robert Evans puts his stamp of approval on the book by supplying the Foreword. I'm glad I purchased the book, it's a fun informative read.

Depending on when we were born we all probably have ...
Depending on when we were born we all probably have a different opinion of the Golden Age of Hollywood. This book tells the story of my particular era through the history of one of the earliest surviving film studios in America, Paramount. Told in pictures, we see the evolution of the art from the '40s, the revolution of the art in the '60s and '70s and the corporate driven 'art' we see today. This is a pictorial wonderland for film lovers and a fitting historical tribute to Paramount.

Wish the book was longer, but very well written.
Wish the book had had more stories in it, but what's there is good. I would like to read other books by this person.

a great book
I was at the Paramount studios in June and while browsing the store I saw this book. It immediately got my attention since I am a big fan of Classic movies and Classic tv. I am so happy I purchased it as I learned so much about Paramount about the movies and tv shows they produced. The writers obviously know what they are talking about and I learned so much. I highly recommend this book, I am going to order the first book as I now want to know more about the beginning years, Carol Baker

I am looking forward to the next in this series.
This is a fun read with great information and photographs. I purchased this book before my trip to L.A. with plans to visit the studio on my trip. It was perfect sized book for travel and a very informative and entertaining read. I learned a lot about the studios history and enjoyed the forward written by Robert Evans.I highly recommend it. I purchased one for my friend who is a huge movie and entertainment buff and he loved it also.
