A modern family drama with an old-school vibe!
I was concerned when I began reading this as it started to sound a little too familiar (the most recent novel I've had published involves a woman with amnesia, a murderer and a husband telling lies) and also because I thought I had guessed how it would pan out. It just seemed incredibly predictable. But holey moley was I wrong and boy was I glad. There's a huge twist then another and another and . . . The ending is very similar to my own too, but the story turned out to be very different to my own so . . . It's a definite 3 star read for me. It would have been 4 had I not felt cheated almost by the predictable feel of the first three quarters of the book. All in all though it's a good read, one that anyone who likes a good family drama or who read and enjoyed Before I Go To Sleep by S J Watson will equally love.

A page turner
This book takes twists and turns and messes with your head; you're upset, you're anxious, you're happy, you're scared, you're optimistic. A good read.

4stars
No surprise here, the Constantine sisters have written another A1 thriller.👏I was really gripped in this from the start. Even though I kind of knew what storyline we were reading, I still didn't know who to trust, who was in the wrong & what the truth could be.I definitely didn't see that ending coming.I did find some of the progression points of the story happened a little quick but it didn't negatively impact the reading experience & really added to pace of the book. This was so suspenseful & really keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't take my eyes of the page for the majority of this book.Overall, definitely recommend & I gave this 4 stars ⭐Thank you to Harper Collins, the authors & NetGalley for an eArc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

FAR TOO OBVIOUS
Far too obvious. It's neither psychological nor a thriller. There's no ending at all. You're told what's happening halfway through. Very disappointing

Incredible and not in a good way
This book drew me in immediately, I was enjoying it and then it was if the authors didn’t know where know where to go next, unbelievable, utter rubbish.

Starts well
I thought it was well written, interesting and I cared about the characters. However it turned out to be very disappointing as the explanation for how the characters are is really incredible - and not in a good way. If the authors did any medical/ psychiatric research, it doesn't show.

Twisted
Addison should be happy; she’s about to marry a wonderful man. But something is wrong – she has no memory. Two years ago, she was found on the side of the road, unable to remember who she is. Julian has spent the past two years wondering why his loving wife disappeared. She never would have left her family willingly, would she? Well, Constantine certainly know how to write twisting reads. This book has so much to it, I was breathless as I tried to keep up with it. This offering is not my favourite by Constantine but is still a solid read and I enjoyed it. To begin with, I love the premise; a person with no memory is always going to lead to deception and twists. It felt quite emotional getting to know about Addison as well, she felt real and the pain she was feeling I felt through the pages. Constantine keeps the reader guessing throughout this, just as I thought everything had been revealed, there would be another hint of secrecy and lies and I knew there was more to come. How thrilling. There is a very strong sense of fear underlying this read, after all what could be more terrifying than not knowing if you can trust those around you? As a reader, this led to a wonderfully intense atmosphere that meant I sat and devoured this read as I needed to know what would happen.I have already touched on Addison's character being strong and she definitely is! It was easy to get to know her and understand her plus I enjoyed doing so as well. The other characters in this are of course integral to the plot and all bring something to events. As with Addison, I enjoyed getting to know them and seeing how they fit into the plot.'The Stranger in the Mirror' is another intense, twisting read from Constantine.Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

Unpredictable
Addison Hope is engaged and should be looking forward to married life but she can't as she has no past. She doesn't even know what her real name is let alone if this is her first marriage. Her fiance is understanding and hopes that he can help her make new memories and forget worrying about the past. Her future mother in law is not so happy with who her son is marrying and intends on finding something, anything that can ease her fears or confirm them.Whenever amnesia is involved in a storyline it is not just the main character that can be unreliable it can also be those around them. So while Addison's story burns away slowly I am doubting everyone. My mind was constantly whirring with theories and accusations revolving around all the characters. Unsurprisingly none of my ideas turned out to be right and Liv Constantine has to be applauded for always managing to come up with jaw dropping plots. Once all was revealed it did remind me of a Dean Koontz book I had read (I know they are big fans of the author too) but they kept the story fresh and twisty beyond belief. At one point I was as muddled as poor Addison with exactly what was going on but I relished in piecing it all together bit by bit. The Last Mrs Parrish is still my favourite book by these authors as its twists and shocks can't be beaten, but this one is a strong second. If you haven't discovered Liv Constantine yet you are missing out.
