It feels good to use, but...
Disclaimer: I used to play table tennis seriously for about 2 years more than 15 years ago in primary school. Back then I was using a Butterfly Primorac Fl OFF- blade. Since then I have never touched table tennis until I went for my overseas studies in Australia recently, where I tried a bunch of really cheap Chinese premades. This Joola racket is my first ever European one. Below is what I've typed out in my phone, one of many notes of the different premades I have tried, but all in the same format: *Update: I have since bought and used other custom carbon blades and can attest that this is a good blade with lackluster rubbers slapped on it (I've tried it with aftermarket rubbers). The best aspect I like about this blade is its impact feel- it mostly feels like a wooden blade. Control is also good as it isn't too bouncy and its repulsion to power ratio increases rather linearly, unlike how some inner carbon blades can be. Too bad its grip size is rather small for me :( Joola Infinity Overdrive (<SGD$65 on discount) Red- Joola Micron (Tier 1 spin, medium inverted pips) Black- Joola Micron (Tier 1 spin, medium inverted pips) Sponge- Dual Orange (Thick and cushy with soft compression and higher rebound at lower speeds) Blade- Nice weight (199g) and weight distribution, stable yet can be quick. Sharp edges come sanded down unlike those on cheaper Chinese premades. Response/feel is also improved. The combination of a kevlar carbon blade with thick, soft sponge gives quite an interesting sensation. Slightly on the slower and poppy side with high throw and better repulsion at lower impacts. Gameplay- Beginner-friendly gameplay with decent response and control, with easy placement of returns and acceptable drive/loop/flick capabilities. Let down by an almost total absence of spin, even when compared with the cheapest but positively reviewed Chinese rubbers with thinner, firmer sponges and shorter pips. The stock sponge's repulsion also cannot keep up with the impact from huge swings and bottoms out, resulting in a noticeable speed cap. *Note: The grip is slightly small at only 23mm thick vertically (grips commonly range between 22-25mm)
