Best yet
My favorite of this series so far. Touches on some deep cultural and phycological issues and sees wonder woman really gain a sense of self and purpose.

Boy, that ending was terrible.
This story was ... fine. David Finches art is always fantastic. But that new costume design is terrible. I don't care that he covered WW up, but it looks like she just put long sleeves and leggings under her existing costume because she's not comfortable in her own skin. At least make it armor or something. The story is OK for the first 75% with a new demigod coming after Diana to defeat her and become the God of War. The ending though was just ridiculous. <spoiler>A baby just shows up and makes everything all better, including negating Azzarello's entire run. </spoiler> That ending just made me mad, but I guess DC wanted to reset everything in preparation for rebirth.

Ms. Finch Deserves Some More Credit
I feel like some have given Meredith Finch's run too much of a bad rap. I admit that the first story arc of her run, "War-Torn", was a bumpy start and I was unsure as to whether of not this would be a good run, but the concluding annual erased that doubt from me entirely as Diana's actions in the conclusion proved to me, at least, that Ms. Finch has a firm understanding as to how her character works. The second story arc, entitled "A Twist of Fate" in this collection, is much more consistently well-written than "War-Torn". During this arc, we see Diana trying to figure out the identity and motivations of a mysterious man who tries to murder her. Meanwhile, Donna Troy is wracked with guilt over her actions in "War-Torn" and after some assistance from Strife, escapes her cell on Mt. Olympus and ends up in London where she befriends a woman who's in an abusive relationship.Compared to "War-Torn", "A Twist of Fate" has more confidence in it's storylines and is more evenly paced. David Finch's artwork is also much more consistent and isn't rushed. Though, my only real complaint regarding the story is that the ending feels rather abrupt and isn't fully fleshed out like it should. Some details in it are given some better detail in the arc following this one, but on it's own, the ending should've been at least several pages longer to give a more detailed explanation. And on a side note, Diana's outfit in this arc is just okay to me. My issues with stem more for the rationale behind it, but I do at least like the more lush color scheme of it.Like I said, Ms. Finch's run is given too much crap from some people. Personally, I like her run better than Brian Azzarello's, since Ms. Finch's characterization of Diana feels more in line with certain past iterations of her character, like Gail Simone's iteration, for instance. Azzarello's iteration, on the other hand, while not a bad one, isn't exactly an ideal kind of Wonder Woman (at least to me).So for those who felt "War-Torn" was a bumpy start to Ms. Finch's run, rest assured that "A Twist of Fate" and the succeeding arc (which I believe is being called "Resurrection") are much stronger stories and are worth your while.
