The Fair Isle Trilogy: Complete Series Collection

The first book was brilliant. After that , it went downhill for me. The main character discovering magic superpowers continuously , just because and her romantic interest diminishing and becoming a Mary Jane. Shame because I really enjoyed the first book of the trilogy.

I persistent with this trilogy with great effort. The main character was not likeable and bad tempered in my opinion. The love story went from 0-100 with a lack of depth to the male main character. The world building and courts were interesting. However this book bored me and was hard to finish.

Really enjoyed this storyline and the MC developing character. The storytelling was great moving at a good pace, as was the world setting.

I really enjoyed this trilogy - I read them all in a day. I preferred the first 2, there was a moment between the leads in the 3rd book that didn't sit well with me (where Evie uses manipulation/lack of consent against Aspen) and after that, I wasn't as invested but still enjoyed it overall. The world is really interesting and consuming so I have started reading the spin-offs as I am not ready to leave the Fair Isle yet. Would love to see more of Evie/Aspen's story later on, even though I know there isn't much more the author can do with it so it was obviously compelling.

I enjoyed this eons more than I was expecting too. They say not to judge a book by its cover, and I have always found the opposite true until recently. I came across this book on several of my book suggestion lists and was so happy to be allowed to review it for Odette as a trilogy collection release! To Carve A Fae Heart was enticing and intriguing from the get go, and the characters each had their own flavours and voice, which many in the Fantasy genre struggle with. I can’t bear a drab narration, but here everything held my attention and intrigue. Odette does a brilliant job of conveying a world like so many but in an original clearly inspired way. It isn’t difficult to create this world whilst reading her words and her creations actions. Book 2 is again quite an intrigue to read although I did find myself slowing with need to read towards the second half… I am so glad I stuck with it though and am glad to say the third book defied my previous expectations and led me back to Faerwyvae happily. This is an author I am glad to say has left an interesting and fun to read series and I look forward to reading more in the future. Overall, I give it a 3 star rating, as compared to many other Fantasy Fiction books and series, the world is not complete, and certain areas of character development sure did feel lacking and I had no pining after heroes or antihero moments. But I enjoyed it as an easy to read foray into the Fantasy Fiction world.

If you haven't read the "Fair Isle Trilogy" yet, do yourself a favor: Grab this omnibus edtion and binge-read the whole series! The world building and development of characters in this series really blew me away, and the unique and jaw dropping plot left me well and truly hooked from the first page of book 1 to the final page of book 2. All of these books were exciting, passionate and were amazing page turners filled with lots of twists and turns that left me squealing and gasping. I fell in love with the characters as I did in Curse of the Wolf King and I’m so excited to read more of Tessonja Odette’s work!If you love the ACOTAR series as I do, this collection is calling out for you to read it! It’s fiery and the writing is incredible and so easy to follow and I really can’t recommend this series enough!
