bought the Weber Compact Kettle Charcoal Grill (Ø 47cm) as a gift for my South African husband, and it could not have been a better choice! First of all, if you know anything about South Africans, you know how seriously they take their braai — and this grill absolutely delivers. From the moment he opened it, he was thrilled. The classic kettle design looks fantastic, and the build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Weber: sturdy, durable, and made to last. The 47cm grill area is the perfect size for family braais. There’s plenty of room for boerewors, steaks, chicken, and veggies all at once. The heat distribution is excellent, and the lid helps maintain that authentic smoky flavour while keeping everything juicy and evenly cooked. Assembly was straightforward, and once set up, it felt very solid and stable. The ash catcher makes cleaning much easier than expected, which is always a bonus after a long evening of cooking. Most importantly — the food tastes amazing. He says it reminds him of home, which makes this gift even more special. If you’re looking for a meaningful gift for someone who loves charcoal grilling (especially a proud South African!), this Weber Compact Kettle is an absolute winner. Highly recommended! 🔥
