Bright Blaze of Magic (Black Blade) Paperback – April 26, 2016

I absolutely love this series and everything about it! This was by far my favorite of the three books. The main character Lila is independent, loyal, and fierce! I love to see how she's changed from the first book but still manages to stay true to the type of person she is. Much too often in books the main character can completely change who she is for other people..especially if there's a love interest. Not Lila...she learns to let other people in but she still stays true to who she is....she's a bad ass who can take care of herself. In Bright Blaze of Magic we see her not only taking care of herself but the people she's come to care about.The first two books were really building up to what I imagined would be some sort of epic fight or showdown....so let's just say I had some high expectations. Jennifer Estep did not disappoint! I don't want to spoil anything but everything I've been waiting for concerning the families and long planned revenge and epic fights...it's all here. And we can't forget some spectacular run ins with monsters, I love that element in this series.There is some continuing romance but it's definitely not the main focus of the book. The books is filled with action, magic, and excitement. I finished this book feeling satisfied with the way the story played out in every way! So, if you haven't read this one yet then I recommend you not wait any longer, and if you haven't started the series yet....what are you waiting for!?!

Jennifer Estep’s Bright Blaze of Magic is the final installment in the Black Blade trilogy and it was once again an amazing read! This series was so much fun and is pure paranormal at heart! In this one, Lila will have to fight to save everything she’s fought for as the enemy is about to make his final move.Lila, Devon, and Felix are about to attend a big Family dinner where all the Families are in attendance. It’s supposed to be a peaceful gathering of sorts, but Lila has a suspicion that this could be the night Victor Draconi makes his move and attack. It turns out her instincts were on par. Now she, Devon, Deah and Felix will do whatever it takes to rescue everyone that Victor captured, which was basically everyone—other Families included.This book was pretty much gearing up to the battle to end all battles and the pacing was spot on! Just when you think you might know where things are headed, Jennifer makes a few twists and turns to give the reader a rush!In some ways, this was a rather simple plot but it was filled with many, many different obstacles that Lila would have to overcome. All throughout the two books ahead of this one, she has been wanting to exact her revenge on Victor for killing her mother, but is she strong enough to do it now?I felt like the tone in this one was definitely more serious than the last book, which had its serious moments no doubt. But there was very little time for happy moments in this one when they have fear for their lives while trying to save the lives of their loved ones. There was also a great deal of bloodshed in this one that surprised me for some reason. We mostly saw this in the aftermath part, and there wasn’t a whole lot of emphasis put into it, but the picture was still pretty clear…lots of bloodshed.Since the plot was focused on the saving lives part, there was very little time for romance as well. The relationship between Lila and Devon though never faltered, which was nice considering they just finally got together. Felix and Leah rarely had time for any romance as well, so it was a bit of a letdown in that area, but honestly looking back, I’m not upset at all about the lack of kissing. There just wasn’t the time or place for it.I did like how the relationship between Lila and Deah continued to grow. Leah wasn’t nearly as horrid as her father and brother in the Draconi family. It was a little heart-sickening to know of all the abuse she suffered from her family, but Deah never let that keep her down for long. She was a strong heroine and I would’ve liked to seen more of her.The ending here was nice and simple…yet there seemed like there was a tease of more possibilities but since this is already four years old, I think that ship might have sailed. It was probably just one of those teasers that gives you hope for a better future and more adventures for our characters, which honestly, is always the best way to end a series.Bright Blaze of Magic was exactly what one would expect from a finale! It has all the right heart-rushing feels and an excellently paced action filled plot. This is definitely a series that any paranormal fan should check out! It’s quite the entertaining read!Overall Rating 4/5 stars

This series is so good, a hero who just won't quit Lila was a great character so much bad happened to her but she kept her compassion, some of her friends quite made me laugh in amongst the horror and a boy who was 2 good to be true quite a few villains and boy were they bad . really enjoyed this whole book kept me on the edge a couple of times not sure she would make it will read again!

Again super fun read great story line very strong heroine. The third book is just as entertaining as 1&2. Read it

A good ending for Black Blade series. Loved the storyline, characters, action and adventure. Characters were so unique with great fighting skills, but with compassion for others. Except for the evil people. Enjoyed the book.

I never put spoilers in my reviews.This book has it all fully fleshed characters, good dialogue, great world building. Add good plotting, mystery, action, wry humor (one of the things that makes reading a Jennifer Estep book so good,) a little romance, derring do, heroism...long list.Do yourself a favor, buy, read enjoy- set aside some time as you won't want to stop reading until the very last word- and wish for more. Check out her Spider series.If you have read the series, keep your eyes peeled...you'll know why when you read it.

The House of Dragoni has enacted their plan to eliminate the other Houses and, in particular, The House of Sinclair but Lila has received advance notice and has acted to diminish the element of surprise. However when Victor Dragoni acts earlier than expected it gives him more power than and Lila struggles to support a large enough force to oppose them. As Victor begins to make his move to power the depth of his planning and the resulting marshaling of all his powers seems overehelming and Lila is not sure that she can meet his threat but knows she has to try. This is a very satisfying conclusion.

What and ending - loved this series and read all three in a matter of days. Fast paced and easy to get into - hard to put down though!

Die „Black Blade“-Reihe von Jennifer Estep, nahm mich vom ersten Buch an gefangen. So begierig eine Trilogie zu lesen war ich schon lange nicht mehr und ich bin auch versöhnt mit dem Ende, das die Autorin sich für Lila und Devon ausgedacht hat. Am meisten mochte ich Lilas rotzige Art, sie ist keine Heldin, sondern eine Diebin, die in allem nur ihren Vorteil sieht und die den Tod ihrer Mutter rächen will. Ihr geht es nicht um Macht, eher um Genugtuung. Die Anstellung bei der Familie Sinclair ist da eher Mittel zum Zweck und sie bekommt ausreichend zu Essen. Zudem findet sie in Devon ihre erste Liebe und einen Platz an dem sie sich zu Hause fühlt. Natürlich dürfen all die schillernden Figuren, die diese Geschichte erst so liebenswürdig machen nicht fehlen. Vor allem ihre männliche Haushaltsfee brachte mich wieder mehr als einmal zum Lachen. Ich bin nur froh dass er und seine Schildkröte alles heil überlebt haben. Ansonsten begegnet der Leser wieder diversen Monstern, die mal mehr und mal weniger freundlich auf menschliche Gesellschaft reagieren. Ich für meinen Teil werde den Aufenthalt in der magischen Stadt vermissen, aber ihn noch ein bisschen in Erinnerung behalten, weil es da so spannend war.Frau Estep hat mich mit Lilas Abenteuern neugierig gemacht auf weitere Bücher von ihr. Es war ein Lesevergnügen in die magische Welt von Cloudburst Falls abzutauchen und diverse Monster kennenzulernen. Ich könnte mir durchaus vorstellen, mich noch einmal von allen drei Büchern verzaubern zu lassen.

An imaginative and enjoyable series. Well written with a fast paced storyline. Full of action packed scenes and suspense I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.
