Teapot
This teapot was a little smaller than I expected, but it is perfect for the three of us. I got a trivet to sit it on along with some teacups. It is an elegant setting for the center of my table while dining.

Began to rust after the first time I used it
When I saw this teapot, I loved the style and the price. But after the first use, I began to notice that it was rusting. I have had numerous other cast iron teapots and getting rust was a first for me. Very disappointing.

Perfect for 1-2
I've owned this teapot for 3 years now. I purchased off of Amazon. It is an ideal teapot for 1-2 people. I have not had any quality issues or issues with rust.

quality control reviews needed
quality of the piece is reasonable, expect the handle is not centered, so the pot tilts to one side when it is picked up for pouring.

So chic
I gave this teapot as a gift to my daughter. We enjoyed a relaxing cup of tea on the porch watching spring arrive!

Great product!
I got this for Christmas, and it's fantastic for my purposes--making tea for two at most. I can only assumed twenty ounces qualifies as "large" in the Japanese world of teapots is because the Japanese seem to traditionally prefer their teapots to be palm-sized. You will get two eight ounce servings out of this pot. Anymore and it will overflow. The pot retains heat amazingly well, and such heat sustaining ability is ideal for brewing in that the temperature drops less quickly and maintains the optimum heat. This teapot does not drip while pouring, something shoppers should be aware of and that many reviewers forget to reassure shoppers of. Also, it's a good quality iron in that it's plenty heavy without being cumbersome. The only thing I don't like about the whole package is that the stainless steel infuser basket does not reach the water if one pours in only enough water for one eight-ounce serving. But that's no big deal since it's better to let the tea float loose in the pot anyway and have plenty surface area to expand and give off flavor; I only mention it because I believe that is another thing shoppers should be aware of. However, I still get good use out of the infuser by holding it over the cup to catch any leaves that may come out of the pot while pouring.I would recommend getting a trivet along with this pot, namely a cast iron one. Obviously, most of the heat will be in the bottom of the pot, and whatever surface the pot is resting on will absorb and diffuse the heat. It may sound trivial, but if you have stone countertops, the heat will get sucked right out by them. A cast iron trivet absorbs the heat of the pot without transferring it since it is on rubber pegs and, being made of iron as well, holds onto the heat for a very long time.I would recommend this for all loose leaf tea brewers, from beginner to the well-seasoned.

Nothing like a good cup of tea
I like to brew a full pot and drink one or two cups of hot tea--I use my wedding china just to be pretentious and because otherwise the china just sits moldering in the cabinet and that seems wasteful, especially after I made such scene about keeping it after my divorce. The remainder of the tea I allow to cool and then I drink it later, over ice. This pot holds the perfect amount. The secret of excellent tea is brewing time, of course--never more that two minutes and for Heaven's sake remove the strainer! Also, use good tea--I recommend Mariage Freres teas, especially the delicious "Casablanca" blend, which is a green tea but very flavorful. You can't go wrong with Earl Grey, either. This tea pot is very simple and elegant--looking, the strainer is easy to use and clean, and the tea stays fairly hot. Keep a finger on the lid when pouring.
