I tried many harissa's before learning of this one, which I believe is the benchmark harissa against which all others should be judged. Made in Tunisia, it is thick with just enough oil to give it moisture but without overdoing it. There is plenty of heat generated by this very flavorful condiment that goes with just about everything, though I wouldn't recommend eating it alone unless you want to set fire to your mouth. You won't be disappointed!

This harissa is perfect for so many recipes which need heat and character.

I have tried many brands, and this is head and shoulders the best. Most complex flavors, thick texture which can be mixed with mayo or cream to make a delicious sauce. It's very spicy but mellows over time.

Wonderful creation

I am tunisian and I am very deceived by this product. This should not be called “Harissa”, it has nothing to do with the true genuine flavors of the tunisian Harissa that I know and that my parents used to buy in the Tunisian markets. It is not spicy at all, lacks flavors and is overpriced. It looks closer to a sundried tomato paste than a Harissa.I really was hoping that this product could refresh my memory of the tangy, spicy punch of the true original Harissa of my tunisian life but was very deceived unfortunately.This dark red paste should not bear the name of Harissa.
