Keeps your neck warm on the bike
I admittedly don't purposely ride when the temperature is below 50F, I hate being cold. I've done it a few times though leaving early on a day that was warning up starting out around 45F. Riding a CBR600 on the highway around 75mph, I got it pulled up over my nose with my helmet with on and it did great job keeping my neck warm enough. A cruiser or adv with a nice windshield you could probably be surprisingly comfortable even in a bit lower temperature. I've also worn it on a few runs as low as 30F, and same thing I wasn't as warm as I like but it was able keep me warm enough that I was at least able to get outside and do something over winter.

Best neck warmer I won
Very nice. Fit is great - not too tight or loose. Very warm and long enough that you can pull it up over your mouth/nose and back of your head and it still be inside the collar of your jacket. I have purchase several similar neck warmers over the last couple of years and this one is the best that I have.

Makes a BIG difference
Hubby ordered one of these for each of us & it quickly became something I never want to be without when we're out riding. Due to our work schedules, probably about 60-70% of our rides have been after dark recently so, obviously, it's gonna be cold. I have tried wearing a ski mask under my helmet (not comfortable IMO), wearing a big winter scarf & zipping up the warmest jacket I have that fits underneath my leather as high as it will go in an effort to keep freezing cold gusts of wind from traveling straight down my neck & the front of my body—largely without success. That's why hubby started looking at these Alpinestar gaiters in the first place & I'm so glad he did. It really does make a big difference. I even ordered a new one instantaneously when I thought I lost mine temporarily—it turned up the following day but I'm not mad about having a backup on hand. Now I keep that one in the saddle bags so that if I ever forget to put it on before we leave the house or if the weather takes a turn for the worse & I suddenly wish I had it on, I always have it if I want it. I have washed it a bunch of times already, so far it has held up great & still looks/feels good as new. If you're checking it out on Amazon or looking for something similar, I would definitely recommend this one.

Good fit and comfortable
I wear the neck warmer while commuting to work on a sport CBR600RR (30 minutes each way) in almost freezing temperatures and it holds very well - there is no wind passing through it. I have to roll it couple times on the base before putting it on, while the top part molds very well against the helmet (Shoei RF1200). I definitely recommend this against a full face baclava (which creates a claustrophobic feeling).

Used it to commute in town at 35 degrees
This thing frickin' rocks. I bought a new motorcycle off-season to save some money, but like anyone else - I wanted to ride it immediately. I live in Ohio, and it was December when I bought the bike. I've ridden in some 35 degree situations and quickly found out that I needed something to keep my neck warm. Keep in mind most of my riding is in town at <= 40mph, but mostly 25-30mph. Today I rode around 100 miles (@50 degrees) at 65mph with no problem at all. I didn't want something that went over my head (balaclava style), because I didn't want my helmet to be too tight. I also didn't want to look like I was ready to rob someone when I took my helmet off. This neck warmer works perfectly. I switch between goatee and clean-shaven, facial hair wise, and this neck warmer fits right over top of my chin and 'sticks' on my stubble (this is a good thing). It really stays put. When you put your helmet on, it kind of slides down a little, but it seals well with the helmet I wear. The helmet is a Speed and Strength SS700 "Top Dead Center". It also looks great on my weiner dog.
