WHY?? didn't I find these sooner?
I bought these and LOVE them - planted 2 dozen bulbs in barely as many minutes. Also used them for planting plugs - it's AMAZING! The different sizes were helpful. If they don't last, I'll be buying more - you can get a day's worth of planting done in an hour with these! The bits themselves seem of reasonable quality. I didn't clean one off and it rusted, but that's on me. Still very useable.Obviously (I assume), you need a drill to use these. And a real drill, not just a small thing for screwing pictures into walls - you're digging with this, so you need a drill with normal, not sub-standard power.

It's great for planting daffodils
Planting daffodil bulbs. It's great for quickly plugging bulbs into grassy, uncultivated areas. Great turnaround on my order.

The right tool for the right job
I was looking for a tool to dig holes in the ground so that I could install fertilizer sticks. This tool allows me to dig the perfect size hole and not mess up my whole yard.Ease of use: Good. I was able to install it right into my portable drill the same way I woukd for a drill bit.Sturdy: Great. It is made of metal. I moistened the ground a bit before using. Just to be on the safe side.Price: Amazing. It would have cost me three to four times this amount to pay someone to come out and do it for me. I can use it anytime I want. I will continue to explore more ways to use it.

Worked great!
Used this 3" x 12" auger to plant 187 Liriope plants. Tried it in an 18v cordless drill but then switched to a 3/8" corded electric drill which worked great. I found that holding the auger vertically was the trick. I had a lot of small roots to contend with but had no problems. Because of the distance I was from power, I used my small Honda generator moving it around as I went around my property.

Job done
Purchased these to help expedite the process of installing a termite barrier and traps around my property, and they worked pretty well for that purpose.

works but has an issue
I needed this to help with some post holes in hard packed soil. The post hole digger simply wasn't getting the job done so I thought this would help.Pro - it did work and I got the holes all done. I used a dewalt cordless drill with 3ah batteries and was able to get 2 or 3 holes done per battery charge. I drilled about 2 to 3" at a time and then used the post hole digger to clear out the dirt.Con - The drill comes in two pieces and that is what led to the problem. The drill will for sure start bending at the connection and as a result will start wobbling. It still works but will be more difficult to drill as it will vibrate when drilling. For me, it started wobbling on the 3rd hole. If you are careful or have soft ground, it may last longer but eventually, it will bend at the connection. Conclusion - If I were to buy again, I would go with a one piece 24" drill bit. One piece would be a superior design. So get this if you have to get the longer 32" reach but be advised, it will start bending on you. The bending doens't stop it from working as I drilled several more holes after it started bending but it does make the process a bit harder on your wrists with it wobbling.

PERFECT
These things are perfect and make the job so much easier. I have a new home with the typical new house lawn installed pretty much directly in rock, no top soil. It was impossible to dig with a shovel to get anything planted. Trees were never going to happen. Add in any kind of disability and this yard was NOT getting planted. These things had me done in no time. So easy!!! I was so happy. One thing to keep in mind is grip strength. Make sure you got a tight hold on these suckers. Depending on your drill it will twirl you off your butt. It helps to drill down, switch your drill to go the other way and pulled it back up, shake off any dirt and go in again.

Sturdy
I've only used it once so far. Digs good as long as you stop every 10-15 seconds to clean out the hole. It's no match for even soft rock like gypsum but if used in rock free soil it should do the trick and last for quite a while. I do wish the shaft was longer so you could dig a deeper hole for fence posts.

Worked better than expected.

Drill à jardin
Je la trouve un peu petite et courte. Il aurait fallu que je commande 1 1/2" x 18"-20" de long!Belle outil pour petite plantation!

Works great!
When attached to a cordless drill, it certainly make planting bulbs in the fall an easy task. I'm used to doing these by hand and this makes for easy work.
