Gorgeous cover, great album, 5 stars

Absolutely killer album. There is no track that bores & even though I got this years ago, I still love it enough to post a review that no one really needs at this point; it just came up in my review feed. All Hail Ghost!

All hail Ghost! Totally unique vocals. This band reminds me somewhat of Blue Oyster Cult. Not a huge fan of the lyrical contents but very catchy hard rock tunes. I don't think they are really die-hard Satanists but if they didn't go down this road with the song themes and lyrics this band would be much bigger. I wonder if they will be stuck in the genre. I see some tongue-in-cheek delivery of the lyrics from Papa3, especially live. Excellent production. Terrific sounding band. Great cover songs in Popestar...Bible is an epic and just try to get Square Hammer out of your head! Meliora is excellent from start to finish. BTW, awesome live band. Papa can really deliver some vocals.

I just got into Ghost a few months ago. I love all music genres, except for rap from 2000 to today (can’t stand it actually). I read a few things about the band, and figured they were just another death metal band. Then one day I gave Meliora a listen in Spotify, and I was very confused. They have a vet rock/pop/synth Iron Maiden meets Journey type of sound. I didn’t know what to think about it. I had sort of forgot about for a while. I was on YouTube one day and it recommended I watch the video for Square Hammer. Instant love!! I finally understood the angle that they were going for and stopped trying to analyze everything and just enjoy the music. As for this record itself, I’m just getting into it, and I will listen more before final judgement, but I feel like it’s not as good as Prequelle. Not even close. The included Popestar EP I think is fantastic. So for the price, you might as well get the deluxe. I was sad I had to buy these on CD because I mostly listen to vinyl, but I read all the bad reviews about how bad the pressings are with the records. Loma Vista needs to get the stuff together. When they do, I’ll buy their vinyl releases. As for the product itself, it came in an amazon bubble mailer with no extra protection, but the case was fine. Nothing broken.

Didn’t take long to get

like a lot of people here, i was worried about the scratching and skipping issues that were brought up in the reviews. however, i saw some say they had no issues after cleaning the records. i did just that on side A for meliora, and the record sounded great! no skips at all, no weird pitch drops. i had cleaned side B but i guess not as well, because i started experiencing skipping issues there. i just wiped it some more, restarted the song, and had no issues from then on. i used a microfiber cloth and just wiped lightly, and that worked. i'm very happy with this vinyl - one of Ghost's best!!!

I ordered this album and immediately returned it, due to skipping in multiple places. They sent another one and it had the same issue. After packing that one back up, I decided to clean it and try again before initiating a second return. It fixed the issue completely. No skip, and it sounds great on my system. The pressing is just really dirty, so clean it if you buy it.

幕張のDownload Festに追加出演が発表され、事前にPrime Musicで聴いた途端、好きになりました。フェス当日も大掛かりなセットが持ち込めない中、重要な時間帯を暗くポップで捻くれた素晴らしい曲のオンパレードで盛り上げ、私は大満足。Anthrax明け、Slayerラストステージの場所確保目的の大観衆も唸らせるパフォーマンスは、ほかにも大きくファンを増やしたのではないでしょうか。 さて“Meliora”ですが、通常盤と５曲入りシングル“Popestar”とカップリングしたDeluxe盤が存在します。Amazonさんの商品名にはどちらも同じように記載されているので少し紛らわしいでしょうか。私が購入したのはLoma Vistaから出ている米国盤、180g 12インチLP Recordの２枚組のものです。まあ見分け方は２枚組表記かそうでないかなのですが、値段的には１枚モノとあまり変わらない廉価で出ていたり、２枚組相当の値段で出ていたり、結構バラついている感じです。昨今当たり前なのですが、LP盤はサイトから曲のMP4ファイルがダウンロードできますし、廉価で購入できれば非常にお得感の高いパッケージと言えるでしょう。 本篇“Meliora”は、グラミー賞受賞シングル“Cirice”を筆頭に今もライブの中心となる曲が満載、ジャケットも隠し絵的なアートワークが大好きなので今回LPを購入しました。 “Popestar”は名曲“Square Hammer”をターンテーブルに載せ、自宅で聴くためにのみこのパッケージを購入しても意味あるかな、と。少なくとも個人的には。 思いっきり楽しんでください。

One of my favourite albums of all time, but like so many other people here, my copy is unlistenable as it constantly skips. Poor stuff. The label on the centre of the record was also torn slightly on both sides from having the hole pushed through. I’d also say that this is not ‘Deluxe’ in any way, just a black sleeve with no art or notes or lyrics or anything. Not what you’re getting in some of the other vinyl issues of the album that are out there. Avoid.
