Hold on for the ride
What a wonderful book. So funny. Pleasant is one class act. Really so much fun to read about her life. I just want to say I know her brother recently passed away. She describes her childhood with her brother. I am truly saddenedFor her and hope she knows we feel her loss.

The Queen of Everything
Pleasant Gehman kept me up all night. What started out as my wanting to read a few of the stories at a time, soon turned into devouring the entire book in one sitting. I simply could not put it down. This book is a triumph!Pleasant Gehman has led many lives. She is not only a punk rock legend but a master at whatever she decides to do.Some people also know Pleasant Gehman as "Princess Farhana." Some people call her simply, "The Princess."However, I call her "The Queen of Everything" - especially after reading this book!!I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions. Pleasant is a master at story-telling and I am telling you that the stories she has to tell are nothing but beyond extra-ordinary. Her heart and soul went into this book and you will be left simply wanting more! After reading this amazing, candid volume, you will question what you have been doing with your life. This woman lives with gusto, follows her heart and goes after every opportunity that has come her way - and there have been many. Pleasant is beyond an inspiration - she is a creative genius, not only in her work but within her life. This comes across within every page. This is a very important book on many levels. The forwards by Iris Berry and director Steve Balderson so thoughtfully and skilfully encapsulates the exact feelings you will have about Pleasant once you start reading the book.Furthermore, I am breathlessly awaiting the follow up volume to this incredible collection. As Margaret Cho states on the back sleeve. "Read her. You need to." I agree.

A voyeuristic peek into a life on the road where thrills are the norm
I think I have lead a fairly full, and an exciting life with some interesting peaks and valleys along the way to spice things up...but after reading Pleasant Gehman's account of events that shaped and continue to define her life in her latest, Showgirl Confidential, I understand why some people have memoirs that are book worthy and others, like me are relegated to anonymously watch with vicarious pleasure what was missed. At least with Pleasant, her accounts and word-smithing are so vivid and stunning that one gets the feeling of being there... the best I can hope for in the portion of my rapidly dwindling years. I amwaiting for the movie now, but doubt it could match the artistry of her writing!

A Glimpse into a W I L D Ride
I devoured this book in what, a couple of hours? The life Pleasant has lead is nothing short of A-MAZ-ING, and I felt like I was a part of it while reading the book. Seriously, I was crying with laughter over her ill-fated date, heaved a huge sigh of relief after her hotel/camera adventures in Cairo, and was wondering what the ----was gonna happen next with her crazy girl-band on tour episodes.DON'T BE PANIC! Just read the book.
