Magic: The Gathering Adventures in The Forgotten Realms Gift Bundle, 10 Draft Boosters & Accessories

As an avid D&D and MTG fan I was so excited when Wizards announced the crossover, and it hasn't dissapointed for me. I've had a few boosters since it came out but wanted the core set - was going to buy the standard one but decided to treat myself to the collectors edition as an early birthday present to myself and I'm glad I did.I collect magic for fun not for expensive cards so I can't comment on the financial value - but to me personally this was value for money. It was the most fun I've had opening magic cards, the artwork is great, there's so many new cards with interesting abilities often decided by rolling a d20 so I found myself stopping to read them. I hardly got any repeats and got plenty of foils even in the standard boosters - the collectors booster was great. Chuffed to have some of the alternative art cards and some borderless - quite a few rares and a couple of mythic too. Obviously being boosters everyone will get a different selection of cards aside from the basic lands, basic foul lands and the treasure chest artifact etc.I love that they included an oversized d20 rather than a spindown as you end up with so many spindowns buying MTG yet most of us use apps now and a lot of the cards in the crossover require you to roll a d20.I'll be swapping it out for a standard one to use in MTG though as I want to use the oversized one for D&D! The oversized dungeon cards are cool too although I'm not sure how I'll store them!Would make a great Christmas present for a fan 😊

Great value for money, better than average box

It's a nice quality product with a good, sturdy box to hold the cards and a really nice, oversize D20. The lands you get are all basic but really nice artwork with some flavour text too.My own issue is with the contents of the booster packs. Although there is of course a certain amount of randomness to what you will get, overall you should expect a better result than what these packs deliver. The range of cards includes loads of nice, extended art and borderless cards, and some really interesting characters too. But those are hardly ever included and so what you do get is largely low level stuff. In 10 packs I got only one mythic and that was a poor one. Pokemon seem to ensure you get at least two top cards per Etb, the equivalent pfoduct to this box, but this product doesn't seem to have that feature. I had only opened 7 packs before getting this box but got loads of doubles in these packs. As for the collector booster, a couple of extended arts and one borderless just isn't enough. They retail at £20 normally - a complete rip off. Here it worked out as an extra £5 compared to the normal bundle box, so perhaps worth a try if like me you hoped to get Tiamat!My purchase was a punt and bought to enjoy opening with my daughter. She enjoyed it but I can't help but think I'd have got much better cards buying singles. A good present for someone who hasn't opened any boosters from this range yet, otherwise not worth the money.

This gift bundle is a big mixed feeling.I ordered two of them in the attempt of adding a good diversity of cards to my collection. Also because the price of a single collector booster is HALF the price of this bundle that offers 1 collector + 10 boosters + terrains and accessories. So the bad feeling is actually not about the pack itself.As usual with MTG, this is a pretty high-quality package with good finishing and the artworks are simply outstanding. My complaint though is about the terrible value of the boosters.I am actually quite surprised by the low diversity dropping rate I got out of each booster. I ended up with 3 to 4 times the same rares, and a LOT of similar commons, and uncommon cards. I don't remember experiencing such a low dropping rate with cards that actually bring the value to the ground with other extensions.I can't recommend these to people trying to build a deck out of the FR extension. The collector boosters tho are a great deal in this bundle. Not for the dropping rate of good cards you can obtain, but for the alternative illustrations and backgrounds and shiny cards.My recommendation for building a deck based on the Forgotten Realms would be to first buy a Commander deck you like and then purchase 35 booster packs of the same mana color. These 35 boosters can't be found on Amazon, but there's a lot of good shops online you can find that sell around £7 each. That seems a better value to me for 35 cards.

I got an over abundance of copies in my packs. The box is a good storage space for the cards though.

Me han tocado bastantes cartas que estan entre los 2 y 6€ un par de 7 y otra de unos 9. Unas 4-5 míticas. Creo que me he acercado bastante al valor del bundle.
