I will never buy a different model again so long as I'm using a closet.Here's the truth about Tie Storage, friends: Plastic models ALWAYS break; it's just a matter of time before poor design, wear and tear or chemical degradation break some small, critical component. Steel models without retainers send your ties to the floor. Mechanical gizmos and rotating racks also break and prove that you have too much room to waste. Boxes and cabinets, rolls and folds and everything else tortures your ties, especially the expensive silk ones.The EZOWare hangars have an attractive, solid design that should last a lifetime. The hooks fold out for display, generally have A++ goldilocks tension, and fold in against each other for a great display and extra retention. Others have rightly complained about some clips being too tight or having tiny burrs. However, only one of forty-eight clips in my two-pack was too tight for my comfort and this could easily be wedged open; more importantly, all clips were functional and retained their ties. While a handful of clips did scratch their fabric, I don't expect much long-term wear, all in a spot hidden under the collar; if you're concerned about this, a variety pack of ultra-fine sandpaper will do the trick and give a sense of ownership.At the end of the day, you have to know what you have before you can use it. These hangars are the first tool in fifteen years of formalwear to give me back my tie collection.

These hangers are 5.7" tall in the middle, not 5.3" as listed, which does make a difference to me. The hooks are inconsistent - some are a bit more wide, and some more narrow. Not terrible, but not what I want. I am returning them.

I actually really LOVE this product to organize my ties. It makes finding them much easier, and it does not require batteries or anything more than the space to hang them. All that said... it is true that balancing the weight in them can be tricky if you do not fill up the rack with an equal amount of ties on each side. And then they also will tip a bit if you keep them tight and down close to the rack if you don't balance it forward and back. It's not too hard to do this, but takes observation. It is not a great hanging system for belts... I would use it just for ties. The holders can be tight at first, but I found most all of my ties fit well and slipped in easily. But thick ones I had to pull the clamp up a bit. All in all... these work and they look good in your closet. I appreciate the organization!

This was quite a disappointment : not only is the design flawed, as others have noted, it seems to have been made by kids playing with their parents' tools (see pics). At that price, I would have expected minimal quality.
