Kotobukiya Zoids: EZ-054 Liger Zero Empire Version Marking Plus Version Plastic Model Kit, Multicolor

I assembled the traditional HMM liger zero a couple years back and feel this version fits together a bit better. I would have loved for all pices to be avalible in the gold armor, but was able to improvise with some rose gold paint that displays well too for the mandatory ret bits. Assembling the tail was one of the most difficult points, as those parts do like to snap appart. However, the most difficult part of the assembly for me involves piece D21 on pg19, figures 8 and 9. Might save you some time to take a drop of glue and place D21 in the slot of F11 on step 7 of pg18 rather than struggle with lining up the part as instructed. Other than that, standard assembly was fun as always. Mind the instructions for the shoulder attachments.

An excellent kit for anyone who loves Zoids, or just mecha model kits in general. If this is your first large Zoids kit you should think about how you will display it in advance, because this is one CHONKERS unit; it's nearly two pounds when fully assembled, and roughly 8" long x 4" wide x 5" high.Assembly can take a fair while because of the number of pieces, but is mostly very straight-forward. I did some detailing with markers and paint as I assembled, and total build time was around ten hours; pure assembly was probably about six of those hours. (I don't have great vision close-up anymore, though, so it could certainly be done faster.) There are a couple tiny detail pieces that you may want to put a drop of glue on; they pop off easily if you put pressure on them while changing poses.Unlike most kits, there aren't a ton of extra, unnecessary parts included. However, there are two sets of the body armor for you to choose from, one gold and one red. Speaking of red... The red armor is notably less pink and more red than most of the online images would lead you to believe.If you get any of the CAS sets for the normal Liger Zero, they also fit this unit. They can be fiddly to swap in and out, because a fair amount of disassembly and reassembly is involved.I got mine for $65 USD, and after putting it together I consider it a great deal.TL;DR: It's a fun kit to build, a good value for the money, and borders on "must-have" for any Zoids fan that likes building models.

Came on time. Had decent amount of bubble wrap. Haven't had time to inspect full produc yet (there's alot of pieces lol).

Beyond my expectations

The model itself is great. Looks beautiful, lots of moving parts, very good quality. My only real issue is that I'm 90% through building this model and got to the armor installation and realized I am missing two whole parts trees of the gold armor. The box was not sealed when I removed it from the amazon box but, nothing appeared to be missing upon inspection. Tried seeing about getting replacement parts sent to me, or even a whole other kit sent to me to take out the parts I need (I believe this is what happened with the kit that I received before it was sent to me) but, the only option available is returning it for a refund. If it wasn't for the missing parts and lack of options for resolution through Amazon, I would give this kit 5 stars.
