Easy To Use and works Great!
This is easy to use and works great! Jlug the drive into the appropriate connector and attach the included Molex power cord if you're working with an IDE. No power wire is required for a SATA drive. Plug in the power supply into the wall and turn the power switch on. Then plug the included USB cable into your computer and the drive, if it's not dead it will show up ad an external drive, just like a thumb drive. Note that the drive will not actually turn on until the USB cable is connected to a computer. Once connected the folders on the old drive open quickly. Before you disconnect it be sure to go through the eject process, just like you would with a thumb drive. If you have any old hard drives kicking around this is the perfect inexpensive tool to consolidate all those old files onto another drive.

Works really well with all types of drives. No problems on all 3 types of drives it can connect to.

Pleasantly surprized.
I had a bunch of digital photos in several outdated PC's that I had given up hope of ever getting. I ordered this adapter as a last attempt to get them. I was surprized to have the unit arrive in nothing more than a clear plastic bag. Luckily none of the adapters or power supply had escaped. Using the illustrations on the order page it was a simple set up. The unit plugged into several different type of hard drives and was recognized by my PC. (I am running windows 10), One of the drives would not read but I suspect the hard drive itself was inoperable. Overall very pleased.

So easy to use on old and newer drives
What a wonderful product. I had several old computers of various ages that I wanted to get rid of the clutter. I took all the hard drives out. And with the Hard drive reader, I was able to hook up and read every hard drive that I had (20+years old). I could keep copy and back up data and keep the hard drives and use like as an external memory. I tried other product, and it would only read more new generation of hard drives. I highly recommend this hard drive reader!

Avoid this defective product
Doesn't power on after connecting to power supply provided. This is the second one to show this behavior. Save your time, money and frustration by not buying it

Mixed Bag - EYOOLD SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Hard Drive Adapter Review
My experience with the EYOOLD SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Hard Drive Adapter has been a mixed bag, with both positive and negative aspects to consider. On the positive side, the adapter offers a convenient and versatile solution for connecting SATA and IDE hard drives to a computer via USB 3.0. This is particularly useful for data recovery, transferring files, or repurposing old hard drives. The adapter's compatibility with both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives is a convenient feature, allowing for versatility in handling different types of hard drives. The plug-and-play functionality is appreciated, as it eliminates the need for additional drivers or complex setup procedures. I found it relatively straightforward to connect the adapter and access the connected hard drive on my computer. However, my experience was marred by certain drawbacks. While the adapter worked as expected for smaller 2.5-inch drives, I encountered difficulties when attempting to connect larger 3.5-inch drives. The adapter struggled to provide a stable and consistent connection for these larger drives, resulting in intermittent disconnections and file transfer errors. Additionally, the build quality of the adapter left something to be desired. The plastic casing felt somewhat flimsy, and I questioned its durability over time, especially with regular use. The adapter's performance also varied depending on the specific drive being connected. While some drives worked seamlessly, others exhibited slower data transfer speeds or occasional glitches. Furthermore, the lack of clear instructions or user guide made it challenging to troubleshoot issues or fully utilize the adapter's capabilities. In summary, the EYOOLD SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Hard Drive Adapter offers a convenient solution for connecting SATA and smaller IDE hard drives to a computer via USB 3.0. However, the adapter's compatibility and performance issues, especially with larger 3.5-inch drives, detract from its overall effectiveness. The build quality and lack of comprehensive instructions also contribute to the mixed experience. While the adapter has its merits, the issues I encountered lead me to a three-star rating. I hope that future iterations can address these concerns to provide a more consistent and reliable solution for users seeking to connect and access hard drives via USB.

I bought this to try to get the lost files off of my old Seagate GoFlex Home hard drive. It looked like it had the correct connector but it would not connect. It might connect if I torn the drive casing apart but I’m not prepared to do that!
