Not for smaller UTV winches.
Good quality and heavy duty. Did not work for my 5500lb UTV winch. Winch was too small. Should work great for larger winches.

Good fit
This is a good fit for my 13,000 lb winch and the mounting holes lined up perfectly with no mods or drilling required. Overall sturdiness and finish seems pretty good to me. There were no instructions included but it was fairly straightforward to put together. I put the bolt heads on the inside to maximize clearance for the big winch, it might've worked the other way too - I just didn't want to have to redo it if there wasn't enough space on the inside. I'm happy with this purchase at this point but will update this review if it fails me down the road, which I don't expect to be necessary. Just my own opinions and experience here, yours may differ. Thanks and good luck!

Decent place to start but it will take some work to get it done right.
The winch was a Harbor Freight Badland 12,000 lb synthetic. The thickness of the steel is okay. The accuracy of the holes for the bottom of the winch as well as the fairlead were off almost a quarter inch. I just used a carbide burr and directed the holes to where I needed them to go.The plates in front and behind the main plate are welded at an angle so it'll make the winch tighter. Also check, the handle lengths hhare asymmetric, so put it which way works best for your winch.

Perfect for my needs.
Despite what some short bus people will say in regards to this “not” fitting Harbor Freight’s 12,000lb Badland APEX it DOES!Use the Hardware with the HF APEX winch!!Steps...1) Install winch mount handles with bolt heads on the inside, and nuts on the outside. Align the handles and then tighten all 4 bolts (See picture)2) Install fairlead with Allen bolt head on the inside and nut on the outside, and then tighten. (See picture)3) Flip winch over on a box so that the winch mounting holes face up, lower the winch plate onto the winch. **All but 1 bolt hole lifted up the other was 1/8 off and with a file and 5second it was fixed** Install all four winch mounting bolts finger tight, once all four are in and threaded properly. Tighten then down.4) Take pictures to prove those short bus people are wrong.5) Enjoy winching. Now while I think this is more than worth the price even if I had to take time to widen a hole (don’t expect perfection if you can’t pay for it) I would say that the thickness of the receiver portion that goes into your hitch should be the same thickness as the winch plate itself as relying and 1/8th thick metal to hold its claimed “13,000” seems well questionable. But seeing as I’ll never see more that 8,000lbs I fell it should hold for now. I’ll update if anything changes.
