Duramo Slide Sandal

When I was little, my father and I would stroll through the fields in all the lands surrounding our manor, wishing a good harvest and fine tidings to the peasants who worked the soil.He never meant those words, of course. My father could be a cruel, capricious landlord. One winter, when the driving rains turned the soil to mush, and the mung-beans and wheat-stalks lay rotten in the waterlogged earth, the peasants cried out in starvation and cursed the gods for their ruin.My father would sing, and he would laugh, and he would prance about the fields in chicken-feathers and a beak, gleefully tearing up the wheat-stalks and tramping them into the dirt. "Cacaw!! Cacawww!!" he would shout, as in his animalistic frenzy, he would torment the villagers and consign their small children to certain demise.Afterwards we would dine on fine linens and gold-leafed plates. We would feast on fatted lamb and stuffed goat, and we would slurp a hearty stew, and we would drink our fill of exotic, spiced wines from the furthest corners of the world. Oh, how we wanted for nothing! And oh, how this wanton and careless display of opulence enraged the local peasantry! If you listened closely -- and my father did not -- you'd hear their talk turn to revolution, their words baited with venom, their intentions violent and resolute.I awoke one morning to find our castle engulfed in flames, my father screaming for his life and fleeing on horseback, abandoning me to whatever cruel fate the revolutionaries had in store for me.And so I grabbed what little I could, including these fine sandals by Adidas, and I ran out into the dusty roads, beating a hasty escape from the life I had known and all it entailed. I know not where the road ahead will take me. But I do know that I will walk that road in comfort and style, with these reasonably priced and durable Adidas Duramo Slide Sandals in Navy and White, Size 12M.

These are the best sandals. My boys have been wearing them for at least 10yrs (the same pair). Wish they were still available.

Updated...it's been 1.5 yrs and still wearing these slides (same pair)..Needless to say, I still love them. Here to find more colors. great investment. Before update: I am a womyn wearing these slides and my review is based upon this fact. The slides are comfortable and fit well for me. I have a narrow foot and did not want the perfect fit meaning having my toes and heel right at the edge of the shoe but also not with too much room left. I like the inner feel of the slides over the regular Duramo slides. I have plantar fasciitis and I can walk around longer in these slides than I can the typical Duramo. The slides are durable. I've been wearing them for over 6 months now and I pretty much wear them every day. I haven't had a problem with sliding on wet turf so I feel safe wearing them. This particular color pretty much compliments any color outfit. I wear these in public showers, the pool but mainly at home and during driving. I am definitely looking for other pairs in different colors. I like these slides b/c they are not heavy and unlike some of the other Duramo types, when you get the inside top of the shoe wet, it dries immediately when wiped, unlike the others in which you have to wait for the cotton to dry. These may look flimsy and heavy to someone's eyes but they really aren't. I expect these to last a very long time.

I am a woman with a slightly wider than average foot and usually wear regular width size 8.5. I tried a men's size 6 and a women's version size 9 before settling on a men's size 8. There was no size 7 available in this color, but I don't think that would have fit in the width anyway as even the 8 is a little tight. The strap is narrow, I suppose so the shoe doesn't fall off of narrow feet. They don't adjust so you are pretty much stuck with the width of the strap across your foot, although after breaking in it stretches a little. I would give it 5 stars if they came in a wide width- women's wide width would be perfect, in cute colors would be heavenly! After a day or two breaking in and molding to my foot (the arch support feels super weird at first and then you don't even notice it), they are very comfortable and overall I am pleased. They are not super cute since they are scaled for men but they do the job as a house shoe/shower shoe. Lots of cushion and one piece molded that can be easily cleaned. Better than the 2-piece 10 year old Nike slides that they are replacing.

Very nice product and not just for the price....good product period.i used to own the 1968 classic Adidas slipper, which i liked but they ripped after a few years as it was made from 2 pieces glued/stamped together.this item is superior in a way that it is all one solid piece of plastic/resin (whatever the material is)it is also quiet comfortable...fits like a glove!The only thing you should be aware of is.... if you have high arches order one size larger. I knew this ahead of time since ive been down with adidas since foreveralso i would like to point out something i read in another buyer's review.... this is actually one of the reasons i purchased them...they are molded in such a nice form that whether you are putting them on with socks or without you feel no resistance and they just slide right on.ive only been wearing them for 4 minutes so far, but i know they will NOT rip like all other non adidas slippers i had beforethey call them sandals, i call them slippers. not sure if sandal is an appropriate term for these, but who cares! buy them, love them!
