Bolens Riding Mower Carb Kit
This Nikki Carb kit was exactly what was needed to fix the carb issue on this Riding Mower that was given away. The carb fuel bypassed straight into the motor and hydro locked it up. A simple thing like an Oring can create and very bad day when needed to mow the yard.

These work with a little bit of work
I gave this 4 stars because you get 5 for your money.People who often buy these think..."cool, i'll just install it and run it." Yeah, you'll be cursing all day long if you do that. These take some finessing to do correctly.- First, install the main jet O-ring onto the main jet then coat it with some WD-40, then drop it into the plastic piece (o-ring first!)- Fit the plastic piece onto the carb and press down hard. When you hear it snap into place, remove the plastic part.- Install the other O-ring, add WD-40 to that, then fit the large rubber gasket to the rest.- Carefully assemble all of that to the carb- Once all that is in place, install the needle and float- Holding all of that in place, blow on the inlet where the fuel line goes, moving the float up and down. If you hear air while closing the float, then your O-ring is not seated properly!- Assemble the float bowl and installIf the engine surges at WOT, then you must drill out your main jet. Doing all of this has helped rebuild numerous Chinesium carbs with these kits.

Only some of this kit is useable
In this kit the main jet is too small. Also the needle is too long and does not seal. I was able to use the float, the bowl gasket, the o-ring for the main jet and the o-ring for the fuel pickup tube (although it looked different). With these parts I used out of the kit and a new oem needle I was able to repair my carburetor. So if you buy this kit be sure to get a new oem needle and don’t lose your old main jet.

poor quality- only ended up using a needle valve
Poor quality components. The float would not actually rotate so would not shutoff gas inlet. Ended up reusing original. The orifice fitting appears is undersized (had to leave choke on so engine runs OK - insufficient fuel being fed into carb). Went back to original. Pretty much the only items I used are the gasket for intake, the needle valve and had to use the gasket under the plastic piece (got carb cleaner on original so swelled and this one is horrible with flash everywhere around perimeter - had to use). Essentially the kit is a waste unless you need a couple of items out of it. In a pinch might be able to use some items but plan on using your original OEM parts, particularly ones that are critical in operation of carb.

The plastic parts are good for repair of old engines or well maintained machines.
These parts are good for reasonable repair at a good price. My son reports that the plastic float and other plastic parts over time are softened and perhaps partially dissolved by gasoline (which means those particles of plastic flow with the gas). For long term restoration, getting the original brass parts is probably worth the investment - if they are available. If they are no longer available, note the installation date of the plastic parts in your manual or on machine, use good gas, never leave gas in machine season end (run until dry), and check carb interior in a year or two for deterioration or particle accumulation especially if you notice rough running or adjustment problems. .
