What is gauge on size 8 needle?

It is recommended to use knitting needles in size US 6. If you will use size 8, the knitting will be very loose. Please check Drops Nepal yarn. It is perfect for sixe 8 needle and the content is the same as Drops Lima (65% wool, 35% alpaca). Drops Nepal is a little bit thicker and usually the gauge is 17 stitches and 22 rows per 4 inches. But it can be slightly different depending on how do you knit: loose or tight.

Can I make socks with this yarn?

I am not an expert, however I love the yarn and the shade, I would attempt to make socks from the yarn, if it were me. I only make scarves and aphghans. No clue how to make socks. Go for it!
