Webster's New World Portable Large Print Dictionary, Second Edition

Just a great version of a dictionarty (larger print) to ease myway to find words & definitions comfortly read. :)

Easy to read, but definitions are so basic and truncated that dictionary is more useful for checking spelling than providing other than most basic, limited definitions.As such, this dictionary is fine if you want “just the beef,” but would be made delectable if it included lettuce, tomato, onions, dressing, etc.To achieve the above, a second volume would be much more useful and justify increasing the price accordingly.

My husband loves this dictionary he uses to look up words when doing puzzles.

I like the large print but the dictionary is missing many words. And some of the definitions are very brief, like one word...

Purchased for my 92 year old mother who often looks up words that she's not familiar with. Since she's not technically inclined, she can't just ask Google. Her old dictionary was so out of date, that it is missing many words (not to mention the very tiny print). The print is quite large and easy to read but I admit it's much thicker and heavier than I anticipated. I knew the height and width but didn't realize it was so thick. Overall, she and I are both pleased.

Well, the publishers of this dictionary must think that the vision-impaired are also mentally-impaired judging by the definitions they include, or perhaps, don't include. But I mainly ordered this book as a spelling aid and it does the job.

It certainly is easy to read. I thought the print would be a little larger than the print on my old dictionary. I can't explain by sizing, as I don't know how to measure print. The letters are too big. I just want a large enough print so as not to have to use a magnifying glass. I have bifocals. The other thing was I found that some words were totally omitted in this new dictionary. I have no idea how many as I only looked at some of the A words.When typing in a size12 font on the computer and after print out, it is an easily readable size for most commonly used fonts. My old dictionary must be under a 7 font size. too small.
