The media could not be loaded.  I used these on 16mm armoured cable as I figured that would be a pretty good test of strength and durability and as I had a load to run in my garden useful as well.So, bottom line is that these were jolly good. They cut the armoured cable with relative ease given that they don't have mechanically assisted jaws and rely only on long(ish) handles and brute strength - which wasn't excessive to be honest. I'm no featherweight but I'm not a 6'6" hulk either and I didn't struggle with them.For anything smaller or less tough to deal with these are a breeze.Quality is very good and in my other life as a marine engineer I've used loads of similar name brand stuff that was no better even though the prices when purchased were eye watering.Bottom line is that these cutters are very good value for money and the Chinese company LOAO seem to be making a real effort to be a quality manufacturer of tools not just a cheap outfit knocking out junk. These are genuinely good.

LAOA Cable Cutters 10 inchThe LAOA cable cutters provide an advantage when cutting thicker electrical wire because the long handles provide such good leverage, they can slice through even the largest wire with very little force.I used the LAOA cutters to cut some 2 & 3mm brass wire for a jig I was making. They are good for two reasons, I have been using large side cutters before that take quite an effort to cut through and leave a cut end that needs filing flat. The LAOA cutters take little effort to cut the brass and they leave an almost straight cut end which is good enough to use without any extra preparation.I was going to try and cut some stainless steel wire but it was very hard, probably as hard as the cutter jaws. I tested it by using the end of the wire to see if it would put a scratch in the side of the cutter jaws and it did so I didn’t risk trying to cut it.The LAOA cable cutters are ideally suited to cutting brass, copper, aluminium and soft iron wire, which they will tackle with ease. Harder wire types are probably best tackled by cutters with hard metal (tungsten carbide) tipped jaws.

...they are just far too much money for the simple job they do. OK so they are ultra sharp and cut through wire better than I have ever experienced, BUT they really are too dear at a penny under £37.Apart from that, I am more than happy to rave about these cable cutters. For a professional electrician they would be used every day and should last for many years. They are solidly made from quality materials and if they were around the £15 mark I would happily give 5 stars.

Thee well made, with lovely soft grip handles, suitable for cutting and strip or baring of wires. These are not really suitable for harder wires such as steel as as the strength and hardness is not really sufficient to cope. As a general electrical wire cutter this a good pair to go for, which is well priced and well made.
