Olga: Out of Control

A brilliant book. Elise Gravel should be so wonderfully proud of the Olga series. A brilliant female role model for my class. A fantastic series from a fantastic author

Our daughter practically begged us to order this book for her as she already owns the first two. This continues where the second book, Olga: We're Out of Here! left off. The book does appear a bit off beat from the mainstream children's books but written with humour and illustrated in a way that reasonates with our daughter who is getting closer to 8 years old now. She picked up the first edition Olga and the Smelly Thing from Nowhere when she was had just turned six years old.

Got this for our daughter who finds chapter books too challenging, and was all out of Phoebe and her Unicorn. I think this might be her new favourite series. Hope there are many more to come.

A great chapter in the Adventures of Olga and Meh!!!

Elise Gravel is a quirky author, and I mean that in the best way. Her books often focus on things, like bugs or mushrooms, that don't get much play in children's literature. The Olga books carry on this theme by telling the story of Olga, an awesomely individual girl, and the stinky weird creature called Meh that she discovered. My daughter is nine and loves this series. She thought this book was just as good as the first two and enjoyed seeing what happened now that Meh's babies are active. The plot isn't deep or profound, which is the point. This is supposed to be a fun, silly book to spark creativity and laughter. The illustrations are both simple and clever.While you could read this book alone, it is best to read the series in order if possible. I think the sweet spot for these books is probably 8 - 12 but kids both older and younger could also find themselves enjoying it.
