Great product
We’ve had it for about a year now and it only stopped working once. I had to take the K cup part apart! Give it a good clean and it started working perfectly again. Makes a great cup of coffee.

New Features & Improvements Great Coffee Machine
This is my third Hamilton Beach dual / Trio coffee maker in 30 years. I have replaced with the same brand however now improved only because of the reliability and everyday practicality of this product. They are well built for everyday household use. User friendly. And now with the Coffee pod single brew 56 oz water reservoir it’s a game changer. Just select cup oz serving size and it automatically dispenses the exact amount every time. This saves a lot of time in the mornings without having to fill the reservoir with exact serving size manually. Over the many years this is their best model to date. I’m expecting it to last as many years as previous models over the years; if they kept the same quality of parts. I highly recommend this coffee brewing machine. One other note: the single serving side is now faster than previous models in heating the water & completing the brew cycle. Especially important in the mornings without having to wait as long.

2 broken in one year.
9/2024. Well the second one broke exactly like the first. It would seem the k-cup side has an issue with intake of water. Both started to make loud noises before the first one started dumping water out the back and stinking of burnt plastic. The second wouldn't even dump water but lasted 8 months longer. Avoid Original reviw: Originally we bought the metal carafe but the keurig side broke and started pooling water under the machine and out the cord port. This is really the same machine. Below is my review for the other machine. All in all its the same except for the glass carafe and the heating element. I am enjoying those two things more. I like the glass carafe because it doesn't pour coffee all over the counter like the metal one does. I didn't want the heating element in the first place but I do like having the same hot coffee an hour later and it does turn itself off after I think 2 hours, I have not timed it. Otherwise the same gripes I have with the other one still stand and are below. I bought this because our costco keurig special finally died. I wanted a pot of coffee option and the keurig option and this does it. The best thing about this is the option to fill the included reusable keurig pod and the k-cup adapter. The k-cup adapter also holds a reusable k-cup which we find easier to use cause we have filters for it. The problem I have found with the included reusable keurig filter is that it overloads too easy and scrolls a large message across the screen, which is ridiculous it could be easier to read. The coffee pot and keurig side work great otherwise. The only other problem we have had is the clock and brew timer are ridiculously unlike any other clock and time you have ever set. It's not intuitive. It is also ridiculous that you can't program the keurig side to auto brew, should be exactly the same as the pot side. This should be an easy thing for the money spent on this. And remember if you do set auto brew for the pot side and then later go and change it to the keurig side then you need to make sure to take the step to restart the auto brew and flip it back to the pot side, not a big deal but still stupid. If both sides were programmable one at a time then sure I get why I would have to make sure to switch it back, it should reset itself if it was already on. Why not one reservoir and choose how much coffee the pot makes? The reservoir for the keurig is easy to fill but the lid falls off easy. The coffee pot side reservoir is hard to fill like every other coffee maker in existence and the water levels are impossible to see without good light and being able to see over the top of the coffee maker. I'm six foot and still cant quit make out all the steps. We have the metal coffee pot, its nice, it does hold the heat, I don't have to worry about a pot of coffee sitting on a hot plate. The coffee pot is a pain to pour the last bits out of. There should not be a lip where there is a lip the design could be better. The coffee pot side holds the steam in pretty good but the keurig side is a steam engine. We just put out the whole thing from under the cabinets regardless, no one needs mold. Overall its a good machine so far and it better last 10 years. Buy a used/refurbished if you can save some money unless you want the extended warranty that was not offered when we tried to purchase the used one. This is why we went with the new one, otherwise I would not have minded a returned item in good condition.

Hamilton Beach makes a better Keurig than Keurig
My wife and I are generally single cup people. We don't drink enough coffee at home to leave a pot of coffee sitting on a burner during the day. So we simply brew a cup when we want to. And by using the numerous Keurig filter inserts available, we can use Keurig makers to make single cups out of our desired (and much cheaper) ground coffee. It costs less and is better for the environment. Periodically, however, we have the need to brew a whole pot of coffee. Such as when my wife wants to make iced coffee and we put it in the fridge, or when we go on a road trip and wish to fill a carafe. Hence a two in one coffee maker is very convenient. When they work. The two Keurigs we had failed in less than a year each. Not a good indication of their current quality control. So we switched to this one that we found for a very low "used" price on Amazon, and so far it has been brilliant. (Let's hope it lasts more than a year). But there are several things that set this one apart from the Keurig branded ones. 1. This one has two separate water reservoirs, one for the carafe and one for the single cup side. I really like this because this means the drip maker for the carafe doesn't have to rely on a separate pump to operate, Also, brewing a pot of coffee doesn't require you to fill the single cup side. It simply operates as a simple drip maker, using convection to move the water from the reservoir into the drip basket. 2. With the easily removable adapters, you can brew 12oz and 14oz cups without the watered down taste that usually occurs when brewing anything larger than 10oz from a K-Cup, or K-Cup filter. 3. The price of this unit is less than equivalent Keurig makers. 4. The baskets and inserts are easy to remove and clean. 5. The 56oz reservoir for the Single cup maker is great in that I don't have to fill up the single serve side each time I want a cup and brewing a pot does not pull water from the single cup side. 6. This one contains a timer and a clock which my other two Duo's did not. Some Duo's do, but they are even more expensive. So far I have zero complaints on this device. It fits well on the counter, the brew tastes great, the temperature is good, and the brew time is fast (90 sec) on the single cup side, and on the carafe side, it is a typical drip time depending on the size of the carafe. NOTE: Hamilton Beach has updated this pot to a newer version which discards the 56oz single cup reservoir in favor of a non removable "single cup" reservoir which must be filled each time you want a cup. I don't know why they did this, and I recommend purchasing this "older" version if don't want to fill up the single cup side during each brew cycle. The value proposition for this compared to Keurig branded pots is off the charts.

Not reliable - failed in less than six months.-REVISED
Revision- I contacted Hamilton Beach directly. They sent a return label for me to send in the broken one. Just got a brand new replacement. If this one keeps working as long as the original one did, I am back to being a Hamilton Beach fan. This unit was a replacement for an older model. The original one worked great for many years. This one quit working on the single cup side in less than six months. Made a horrible noise and smoke started pouring out of it. Prior to that the nozzle kept getting clogged with coffee grounds. All in all, just a waste of money. Sure miss the older one. I don't think I will ever buy a Hamilton Beach product again. NOTE: I contacted the manufacturer and they had me return the broken one and said they will send a replacement. We'll see how that one goes.

Decent but not the perfect coffeemaker I thought I’d get
This machine will brew coffee in a carafe (provided) or brew in a Kcup. It’s fairly easy to use. You can adjust for a bold brew or regular brew. The water capacity of the K cup portion is smaller than I would like. The insert for the K cup is sort of cumbersome in terms of removing the used pod and cleaning. For the carafe, there’s an automatic keep warm feature which I find useful. Sizes of K cup brews are adjustable. All controls are push button, which makes it easy. I have to move the machine forward on the counter every time I use it otherwise I can’t add water or insert a filter. It has pros and cons like anything. It functions fine. If I had tried this in a store before purchasing on Amazon, I would have passed.

Great for households with multiple coffee drinkers
We've had this coffee maker set up at our family coffee station for almost a year now, and it gets used multiple times every single day. The flexibility is what really sold us. We can brew a full pot when everyone wants coffee or make a quick single cup using either K-Cups or ground coffee. One thing I really appreciate is how simple it is to use. The controls are straightforward enough that even my 7-year-old can make a cup of hot chocolate or help prepare coffee (with supervision, of course). The large water reservoir also means we're not constantly refilling it throughout the day. The only issue we've had wasn't the machine's fault at all. One of my kids decided to open a tea bag and dump the loose tea directly into the single-serve basket, which clogged the holes and caused it to overflow. It took me about 30 minutes to clean everything out (with a toothpick and toothbrush), but that was definitely user error, not a flaw with the coffee maker. After nearly a year of heavy daily use, it's still working well and has become one of the most-used appliances in our kitchen. I'd definitely recommend it for families or anyone who likes having both single-serve and full-pot brewing options.

UPDATED REVIEW
"Didn't you just get that two months ago?!" That's what my son just said to me after I spent the better part of two days... TWO DAYS ... attempting to resolve the dreaded "nEEDLE" error on the single serve side. Of course, the return window closed a couple weeks ago. Of course. It's not that the needles needed replacing or that they were clogged. I cleaned both - top and bottom needles - thoroughly. They are piercing just fine. And it's not the brand of cups being used. We have a variety of brands from a variety of sources. It's the machine. See video. It brews about an ounce or two then suddenly starts hissing and puffing out steam from all openings, ending with an impressive blow-out of steam and loud hissing, accompanied by a burst of ground-filled water. It's about half an ounce but it contains enough grounds to cover the bottom of the coffee cup. And then there is a blinking blue light on the "brew/power" button. My son reminded me that our previous machines went out in a similarly hiss/steam blaze of glory. I guess because they lasted a few years, I didn't pay attention to how they ended up giving up the ghost. I just attributed it to them being a few years old and replaced them. This is a few MONTHS old. Bought at the end of April 2025. And it's now the end of June 2025. As much as I have felt loyalty to this machine for more than a decade ... I agree with my son: it's possible it's just not made as good as the previous versions were. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This is such a great system. I am honestly a fan of the dual brew going back years to when it was first released. I bought her (what, 10 years ago?) and it lasted until a few months ago, when she started refusing to acknowledge we had cleaned it whenever we tried to use the single-serve side. She was done. Period. She still brews carafes just fine, so she went to my husband's work site because no one brews single-serve coffee there. I made the mistake of trying a few other systems because some of my family wanted something that makes cold coffee, but after a few months of packing up and returning them all, one by one, I just bought this and told the family to take whatever coffee is left over in the carafe at the end of the day and pour it into a jar and put in the fridge. Voila, cold coffee... OG style. I mean, as a former newspaper editor, I was drinking cold coffee before it was a thing. Pour a cup of coffee, sit down to your desk and then the phone rings and someone knocks on the door... And four hours later, you sit back down and you have cold coffee. IT'S NOT THAT HARD and does not require an expensive machine to get done. Geesh. Anyway... This is a great system, as I knew it would be. I do like the larger reservoir for the single serve side - it lets me get a few decent size mugs from it. It brews a nice hot mug of coffee. I am able to put an average travel mug under the single serve dispenser but you do have to remove the mug pedestal to do that. I don't use the pedestal because we have tall mugs and the coffee doesn't splatter out while brewing like it does in shorter mugs. I like the addition of the brew strength choice - regular or bold. The bold makes it just right for a coffee. That option is there for both carafe and single serve use. You also get to choose the size of the mug on the single serve - going up to 14 ounce. That's that we use for our Contigo travel mugs. It gets the coffee hot and brews pretty quickly, which is good in mornings. Now, for context - this is sitting next to a $1000 fully-automated espresso machine that we use for fussy drinks. So, the fact we would spend that kind of money for an espresso machine should show you that we are buying for results - not cost savings. And the Hamilton Beach Dual Brew is our choice for quality results. The fact it's affordable is a bonus.

This Brew station wins for us, on all counts!! 4TH WEEK POD NEEDLE REQUIRED A CLEANING UPDATE!
There are certain products that the saying " you get what you pay for " is just that ! This is not the case here I am enjoying my first brew this morning after receiving our new to us H.B. trio yesterday. I unboxed, flushed out with water cycling through both carafe & pod system & prepped to have my first cup of java the next morning using the set timer to trigger the brewing process with the carafe. This is beyond my expectations for its price, versatility to make both {carafe or pods) and has just enough options to satisfy most of any type of coffee lover.By the time my Spouse awakes, she'll want her french vanilla pod so my travel mug will be full, & will not matter that the warming element shuts down on the carafe side when using the single serving pod. Esthetics, ease of operation & cost, makes this Hamilton Beach Trio, a wise choice when in need of an upgrade without breaking the bank ! NOTE TO CONSUMERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT THIS UNIT !! THE POD NEEDLE IS PART OF A TWIST OFF ASSEMBLY THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OFF & FLUSHED OF ITS DRIED COFFEE GRINDS, ESPECIALLY IF ONLY USED PERIODOCALLY. AFTER NONE USE FOR ONLY A FEW DAYS. MAIN SYMPTOMS ARE LACK OF WATER/COFFEE, VERY NOISY PUMP & A CLEAN NEEDLE MESSAGE ON LED SCREEN . SIMPLY TWIST & REMOVE, CLEAN & FLUSH THE NEEDLE CANAL & RETURN POD NEEDLE HOUSING TO ITS LOCATION UNDER POD COVER. RESULTS!! MESSAGE GONE, COFFEE FLOWS INTO CUP, & ENJOY ONCE AGAIN YOUR CHOICE OF COFFEE FLAVOR.

Extremely Disappointed — Poor Product Quality & Customer Service
Extremely Disappointed — Poor Product Quality & Customer Service Unfortunately, this machine has been an extremely disappointing purchase, both in terms of product quality and customer service. A few months after purchasing it, the individual-serve side stopped working. We contacted customer service and were required to pay an additional $40 to have the machine replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement machine immediately presented another issue. It repeatedly blew up K-Cups and would not brew properly. When we contacted customer service again, their solution was essentially to pay another $40 for yet another replacement machine or change the type of coffee we drink, as they claimed certain K-Cup brands work better with the machine. We had already tried multiple brands with the same problem, but continued experimenting because we wanted to make the machine work. This resulted in a significant amount of wasted coffee, money, and time testing K-Cups that simply would not work. We eventually found that using reusable pods was the only reasonably reliable option. After putting up with these issues for another five months, the individual-serve side of the replacement machine has now stopped working altogether. At this point, we have given this product—and this company—more than a fair chance. Between the original machine failing, paying for a replacement, receiving a replacement with its own significant issues, and then having that machine fail again, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. What is most disappointing is that the response from customer service was never to actually resolve the underlying problem. Instead, we were repeatedly expected to spend more money or change how we use the product. We will not purchase another Hamilton Beach product and cannot recommend this machine to anyone. A product should not require multiple replacements, additional fees, countless K-Cup experiments, and workarounds just to function as advertised. For the price, we expected significantly better quality, reliability, and customer support.

Love this Coffee maker, but could be better
Been using a single cup Keurig coffee maker for years decided to change for so I can Brew a whole pot of coffee again see below for my pros and cons of this coffee maker PROS: BEST OF BOTH WORLD 2 MACHINES IN ONE- you get a single brewer and a coffee maker to brew a whole pot of Coffee LOTS OF CUPS AND A COUPLE OF BREW OPTIONS- cup sizes range from 6oz to 14oz and will let you know on the screen how many ounces is in you cup, also has a brew strength, of "regular" and "bold". If you choose bold it just takes a little bit longer to brew. Works on both K cups and Coffee pot GIVES YOU 2 COFFEE CUPS FOR SINGLE BREW- one cup to use for the single cup K cups and another one if you want to brew single cup of your own. They just sit in there so very easy to swap from k-cup to your own ground/instant coffee. 2 HOUR AUTO OFF FOR THE WARMING TRAY- when you brew a whole pot of Coffeee warming tray stays warm for 2 hours after pot is brewed. Warming tray does not turn on when you use the Coffee maker for single K Cups DELAY TIMER WORKS AS IT SHOULD- clock is easy to program and delay timer works as it should, takes about 1.5 mins for every cup of coffee if you plan to brew a whole pot CONS: TEST YOU K-CUP MACHINE THOROUGHLY- seems to be a break in period for this machine. 1st week of owning this machine did not like light roast coffee. Would get to 5 oz and it would kick out an error for being plugged. Dark roast and regular worked fine. Fixed it by running hot water though the 1st time than would run it with the K cup the 2nd time (i.e Brew hot water 1st time and the K cup the 2nd time) light roast K cup worked fine after that does not kick out an error anymore tired it 3 times before writing this review and did not have to run it through with Hot water, just put the K cup in and no error NO POWER OFF BUTTON- no button to turn off the coffee maker once done, blue blacklight stays on even hours after done using, no sleep mode will have to unplug it after you are done and reprogram the clock if you use the delay timer, or live with the bluelight being on all time NOTHING TO CATCH EXCESS COFFEE- measure your coffee cups before you brew as there is nothing to catch the coffee if brew to much coffee, extender for smaller coffee cups is hollow IN CONCLUSION coffee maker I do think is a 4.5 star machine but with no power switch and having to deal with light roast k-cups not working the 1st week had to dock one star from this machine. Highly recommend this machine if you want single use for mornings and brewing a whole pot of coffee when you have friends over. Power switch or even a 9 Volt battery so you unplug the machine and it would at least keep the time
