Amazing!
We got a Dutch shepherd when he was about 11 months old. He came with so many issues and one being he could not walk on a leash. His previous owner used a choke collar that did absolutely nothing. My vet tech friend suggested this training collar and it was amazing how something so simply and gentle worked. He doesn’t pull anymore and it has allowed our walks to be easy going. If you feel you have tried everything and haven’t tried this then you need to.

Worth every penny
I have never used one of these,so really wasn't sure what to expect. We just rescued an 90lb boxer that is very strong and wants to go,go. Loose leash walking was not happening. Even my husband had a hard time.We put the no pull on him. He tried to get the nose part off for a min, we took him out and OMG, I walked him with 1 finger. It was so great to walk and not pull my shoulder out.I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you for the good price and a good product.

Works on Clydesdales! (105lb Dobermann/hound mixes)
Wow. I'm really beyond words. We have a 105lb Doberman/Blue tick mix. He's gigantic. A huge dopey jerk. Friendly, but aggressively friendly. He will charge other dogs just to sniff them and say hello. Very rude, and understandably terrifying. Taking him on walks is never fun for me because I'm a 5'3 100lb woman. When he sees another dog, he can (and often will) pull me to the ground. I've fallen over so many times trying to wrangle him in that I've lost count. I've pulled muscles, been scratched, and, most recently, was pulled so hard I was cartoonishly in the air for a few seconds. Worst case scenario is he pulls me so hard he gets loose and gets himself into dog fights because he has no manners (my boyfriend never leash trained him) and the other dogs freak out at the giant Clydesdale hurtling towards them. It's a nightmare. Utter nightmare. The full-body harness I always use for him only seems to give him strength (and, physics-wise, it makes sense - you'll get more leverage and power when you can use your entire body to pull something rather than if you were just using your head/neck muscles). I have to carefully plan my route like I'm in air traffic control when I take him to use the bathroom because we live in an apartment and encounters with other dogs are all too frequent and entirely unavailable.I bought this because I remembered having something like it for our border collie when I was a kid. She'd pull so hard she choked herself. But her muzzle harness worked! However, a 35lb dog pulling you isn't quite the same as a 105lb dog pulling you. I had my doubts about the nylon straps holding up against the power of a draft horse.I waited just about by the door all day for this harness to arrive. When it did, I hoped that it would mean a new life for me. One where horse-sized dogs and small women can go and experience the outdoors together without pain and depravity and destruction. Ladies and gentlemen, my hopes and prayers were answered.I conditioned him all day with the new harness, like the other reviewers mentioned you should do. He got a few special treats (chicken fat and cheese) so he would associate the harness with all things heavenly. When it was time to go, I hooked him up, opened the door, took a deep breath, and stepped out into the world. He didn't pull. Couldn't pull. He cried and threw a fit, as hounds do, but he got used to it. We saw another dog and I didn't have to relive another Friday Night Smackdown! We came back in and for once my arms were still attached to their sockets. Horse dog got an ox tail for being so brave. Life is worth living, my friends.I can't believe it worked. I'm shocked and beyond grateful that I live in a world where a product like this exists. It sounds pricey, but think of how much you'd pay for a trainer instead. If you're blessed with a dog who doesn't try and drive a horse-drawn buggy every time you walk them, then buy one of these for a friend who has a dog like mine.** edit **I think this purchase is what kept me from snapping and huddling in a corner and eating my hair. I bought this over two years ago and it's worked like a charm the entire time. I wouldn't say that the Clydesdale got entirely used to it, but I noticed a difference in his attempts at pulling on our normal walks. He even begrudgingly seemed to accept that it was going to be part of our excursions and stopped trying to fight me when I went to put it on him. It amazes me that a few straps of nylon actually held up against this behemoth animal and didn't snap. This was a life-changing purchase for me.

What you need to know (read the bottom to skip the story)
I have a border collie mix, and she wasn't too bad at pulling however she always got overexcited whenever she saw a person/bird/squirrel or another living thing and this would cause her to pull. I tried a lot of methods to prevent this, from treats to shock collars (which not only didn't work I felt so bad and guilty for using one in the first place) I even tried harnesses with the front loop to prevent pulling. It didn't work, she kept pulling or lunging spontaneously at something, it not only made people fear her (and she is a very friendly dog) but the strength of her lunges was really taking a toll on my shoulder, and my hand. After being hesitant I finally decided to get this head harness, I was hesitant to buy it at first because I thought it would be cruel and painful to my dog, but I needed something stern and something stubborn like me.Now onto getting the product, it came with everything advertised. You don't really need to watch the CD as most of the information is on the paper pamphlet it provides you, which comes with images. I put it on my dog no problem took it off put it on rewarded her for keeping it on her without her trying to scratch or pull it off. Now this was fine however when we began to walk she HATED this being on her face, I tried to walk inside my home first before I moved out into the outside world where there would be a lot of distractions, and living in NYC there is a lot of those. I tried regular dog treats however I needed something she desired more, something to take her mind off of the strap on her face. This is were cold cuts ham came in, I let the leash drag so she can get use to that weight and walked back and forth my home every time she went down I quickly whipped out the ham to distract her and it worked. I did this a couple of times sometimes I would have to unhook her claws from getting stuck in the strap but needless to say the ham did a pretty good job.Now going outside for the first time, she was stupidly calm, not gunna say I was dumbstruck but honestly I was pretty dumbstruck. I felt like one of those people in the infomercials with where you go from and over excited dog to a very calm and behaved one in five minutes (except it took me about an hour and a half to get her use to it) the pressure from the head harness seemed to do the trick, every time she would go just a little too far walking not pulling the head harness would very slightly tug and she would quickly get back a little. Within one day she was respecting the leash boundaries. Every once in a while within the two days she would try and fight it and I would whip out the ham just give her a very small piece and she would be back to forgetting all about it.Now there is a problem with this, the material I can't say for sure how long it would last but I would update if it ends up breaking. There is also an issue with the padding, there is very little padding on the underside of the strap that goes onto the dogs muzzle, so even if a dog does pull harshly with the head harness on, it is going to give sort of an Indian burn on their muzzle. I found out the hard way when one of my neighbors dog got loose, and they made no effort to go grab it as it came after my dog and go underneath her biting her. Now my dog does not tolerate another dog biting her and will attack, as I was trying to get the smaller dog out from underneath her, my left hand which held the leash had a firm grip so her head couldn't, get down and bit my hand or the smaller dog. Grabbing the smaller dog I made sure to separate it even though my dog still wanted revenge on the little sh**t. After the incident however, when I took off the head harness it rubbed off a small bit of her fur creating this very narrow line, though my dog didn't seem to be in any pain and other then that she was fine it still bother me.SO BOTTOM LINE:Yes, it will HELP PREVENT your dog from pulling, the material is not the best of the best but it seemed pretty good, maybe it would last a couple months maybe not, I will have to continue using it to see. Make sure your dog is okay with the head harness instead of just putting it on and going out with it, because if they are trying to pull it off their face, they can cause serious injury to their eyes or cut their muzzle up and get highly frustrated, and most likely create a bad experience in which they will refuse to put it on. Dogs who continue to pull very aggressively with this on, beware, because it will grind into their muzzle and continue use it could cause a gash in their muzzle from the strap, it does not have much to any cushion on the strap that goes onto the muzzle, so it would probably feel like an Indian burn on your arm but onto the dogs face. Other then that dogs who don't have that much problem with the head harness or got use to it being on their face, this will help them to respect the leash boundaries (which just means the length of the leash you have given them for walking), it is also quite a pain for them (or at least my dog) to try and get it off their face with one or two of their paws.

This is a miracle
The media could not be loaded. OMG 😳 what just happened? I literally wanna break down and cry 🤣🤣 this head collar works like a charm. I was absolutely skeptical about this to work on my super crazy 1 year old dog. This was the very first time that I have ever enjoyed a walk with him. I have had tried all sorts of harnesses and leashes on him before and they never worked. This one works and is half price of what they sell at the stores. I absolutely recommend.

Wonderful walks with my furbaby now
My dog is no longer pulling me down the street. Our walks are now much longer because it is so much more enjoyable to walk her. Best money I have spent on a training color. Very simple, easy to use, not bulky which I like best, and now I look forward to our 4 walks a day.Highly receommend Petsafe Gentle Leader.👍🐕

Game changer
This is the greatest invention for forward or hard pulling dogs. I have a 6 month puppy with a mind of his own. He is learning but everything is new. He is 30 lbs plus and I am not a strong woman. The gentle leader makes a walk a joy. He is still forward but can no longer have his way. Now we can start gentle training to keep an eye on me. This will be a work in progress. Be sure to follow the fit instructions. I have seen too many improperly fitted head harnesses. The nose band should have a little play. The harness is well made. Should last a long time.
