Works on a 2011 R56 Mini
I have a 2011 Mini Cooper and had been using a Y cable to 30 pin + 30 pin to lightning to connect my iPhone. The 30 pin to lightning cables kept wearing out and losing connection and were not cheap to replace. I decided to give this a try hoping it would last longer. I was skeptical that this would work but surprisingly it did. I just needed to restart my iPhone in order for it to recognize the adapter. I'm writing this after using it for one day, but so far so good. Amazing!

This is the one for my 2013 Mini Cooper
I was looking for a solution to connect my music /podcasts (via my iPhone) to my 2013 Mini, because I'm not a fan of local radio or paying for satellite radio. I tried connecting via bluetooth, usb and aux, and nothing seemed to work. Then I discovered that the trick is to connect to ALL THREE at the same time - with this gadget. I plugged it into my car's usb and aux (which are located next to one another in my console), then connected via bluetooth to my phone. It worked in a matter of seconds. Now all I have to do is choose "aux" mode on my car and I'm instantly connected (as long as my phone's bluetooth is on). I think the sound quality is really good - especially if I increase the volume on my phone vs. the car's audio. There are trade-offs - you have to control things with your phone, vs. your car's controls, but it is SO worth it to finally be able to play my own music.

Works as advertised- CIC E92 BMW
Vehicle: CIC E92 BMW - install takes 2 seconds - plugs into USB & aux port in center console -use navigation screen to multimedia - select AUX -Connect via your iPhone Con’s- can’t change songs via steering wheel (need to use phone- I was aware of this, just worth noting) & no info is displayed via the idrive screen) Overall for $22 bucks it’s tough to beat

Excellent
This little gadget is a fantastic work around to connecting your phone to your car, specifically if you drive older models. This BT adapter provides high quality/fidelity sound thru car stereo. Connectivity and ease of installation are right on point, nothing to it. Installed on a 2015 Mini Cooper S Countryman.

Ditch the chord. Works great for older systems with aux input.
Works great for getting music wirelessly to older models. I recommend.

Plug & play solution to Bluetooth AUX
Works perfectly with 2010 BMW E90. Plugs right in to the center console AUX and USB ports. I only had to set up the device once, now my phone connects automatically when I get in the car. Only downside is that you have to control the music playback on your device and not through the car.

Works fine, but has a flaw
I’d just like start by saying this adapter works perfectly, I’ve been using it for a couple months, the sound quality is great and I really haven’t had any notable connectivity issues. However, there is one thing that I pretty strongly dislike about it. I use this in my 2011 BMW 328i. There’s a USB port and AUX port right next to each other in the center console, so obviously this is made to be used with those ports in unison, leaving the 12v “cigarette lighter” open. This receiver is kinda marketed towards BMWs, so there shouldn’t be an issue using it with a BMW. Problem is, the USB port stays hot constantly (as opposed to the standard 12v port staying hot constantly like most other vehicles), which means the receiver stays on constantly. So, when I’m doing anything around the car, whether it's cleaning the inside of the car or doing something else in the garage, as I’m trying to listen to music through headphones or another Bluetooth speaker, it’s constantly “hijacking” the connection and connecting to my phone. I’ve even had this happen while I’m inside the house. Ideally, you should be able to just hook this up and forget about it. I shouldn’t have to unhook it every time I wanna listen to music at home, that kinda defeats the purpose. The simple solution COULD be to just plug it in to the standard 12v port to get power, since it only becomes hot when the car is on. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work. For whatever reason, trying to power it via the 12v port with a USB adapter just doesn’t power it. It won’t turn on trying to use it this way. It’s a fine product if you don’t think this will be an issue for you. But it is for me, so I’ll be looking for another adapter to use in my car.
