I have an old Dell HDD that I use as a portable drive. This worked great. I only used it once so far though. The price of $6.99 can't be beat. EDIT: I have used it many times since then and it is still working great.

You need a power adapter to use the cable with 3.5" drives but don't need the power adapter for 2.5" drives.

I installed this cable a few weeks ago and it has worked flawlessly. The time for the desktop to reach the logon screen is only a few seconds. After logging in, it takes only a few seconds more for my system to be fully operational.
