Canary Song Seed 5lb-Improve Singing

Hard to find good canary seed in stores anymore. Even the pet shop did away with it, switching to stuff for "Finch/Canary" that my canaries don't care for. Formulated specifically for canaries, this stuff is eagerly devoured. Yes, they push a fair amount out of the cup, but I've come to realize this behavior is common among many birds. Hence, when I clean their cage I dump the tray under the bird feeders in the back yard. There, the wild birds have fun poking around to get the seed my spoiled tweets pushed out of the cup.PS - I'm also careful not to feed my canaries seed only. If anything, it's more like bread to go along with the fruit and vegetables they get ever day. Apple / zucchini / oranges / Romaine lettuce / broccoli / etc. on a rotating basis.Good quality seed. I'm on my second bag of this stuff. Definitely recommended!

I have a male canary which lost its mate after a year. It stopped singing, and I thought maybe it was due to that change. I found this feed and decided to give it a try anyway. A couple weeks into this "song feed" the bird is singing again every day! I don't know for sure if it's due to the change in feed, but it's worth a try.

I was skeptical, but it really works. After months of not singing, our canary became very vocal two weeks after we switched to this seed mix. A week after that, he began singing every day.On the down side, he only likes SOME of the seeds. The most common kind, a long, thin, gray seed, he doesn't like at all. He throws them out of his cage, all over the floor. But a little vacuuming is a small price to pay to hear him sing again.

This package arrived fresh & with no debris. A nice mix of seeds favored by canaries - plus a fair amount of sunflower seeds. Wth, canaries can't crack sunflower seeds.I notice excessive quantities of the mix being pushed out of the food dishes. Not sure yet if that's their efforts to push the sunflower seeds out, or just their usual digging through a mix & wasting a lot of it in the process.I would love to add a star or 2 to my review if I find that the canaries really prefer this mix. And I would love it if the manufacturer stopped including sunflower seeds in canary mix.

The only thing I didn't like was the packaging. I think a larger size bag would have been better. That's a lot of seeds to cram that size bag. The seeds are wonderful for my red canary who doesn't sing as much as he should. The kind of seeds and the price are a great buy!

This is not song treat like you get in the little jars, but seed. It appears to be the same makeup as the ABBA seed I usually buy for my canaries as a daily seed. They like it, but it’s not what I thought I was getting. I have found that my canaries really like it and eat it with little waste. Happy mix up!

I have 3 canaries that seemed dead for a year. After 2 weeks of feeding them with this seed, they stsrted to sing like crazy. I never write reviews, but I had to this tome, because it works!
