I started my first podcast in 2020 with a Blue Snowball microphone. A couple of years later, I knew podcasting and livestreaming were going to be long-term activities, so I decided to upgrade to the Blue Yeti after hearing great things from colleagues. I used the Blue Yeti for several years before upgrading to a microphone that supports both USB and XLR connections. The Blue Yeti was providing great sound, but I wanted the flexibility to expand my recording setup in the future. If you're just getting started with podcasting or livestreaming, the Blue Yeti is a great choice because it's plug-and-play and provides great value for the money. You don't need a mixer or audio interface to get excellent sound. Just connect it to your computer, and you're ready to start recording.

The Logitech Blue Yeti microphone exceeded my expectations. The audio quality is clear, crisp, and professional, making it perfect for recording videos, streaming, podcasts, and virtual meetings. Setup was incredibly easy—just plug it in and start using it. I love the adjustable stand and the different recording modes, which make it versatile for a variety of situations. The microphone feels sturdy and well-made, and it does a great job picking up my voice while minimizing background noise. If you're looking for a reliable USB microphone with excellent sound quality, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Great mic sound quality and easy to set up, well worth the price!

The MOST IMPORTANT feature of this microphone that made me very happy, after considerable problems with other microphones that interface with a computer via USB, is that the volume of the input recording signal sent to the computer is more than adequate for almost all recording on a computer (using for example the free program Audacity). All other solutions for finding or adapting quality microphones for use to record on a computer via USB do not have a strong enough signal sent from the microphone to the computer via a USB port for sufficient recording volume and flexibility. For example, the USB Blue Snowball microphone, which is substantially cheaper and made by the same company as the Yeti, has excellent sound quality (although not as good as the Yeti), but sends such a very weak signal to the computer that it is really only useful in recording very close to the microphone or for recording very loud sound sources. The cables that you can buy that use USB to power conventional XLR microphones such as those made by Shure and allow them to be used for recording on computers via the USB port are even worse - the signal sent to the computer is much, much, too weak and in my experience too full of static for useful recording. These other options for USB recording solutions I bought first, tested, and then returned. I am now happy with the Yeti I got as a replacement. The Yeti, unlike these other USB computer port recording solutions, also has on-microphones recording volume control that is much easier and faster to use than adjusting volume via a computer program. The Yeti has great sound quality, and also a built-in microphone jack with on-microphone volume control that allows you to hear input without the processing delay common through a computer jack - which is aids quality recording over background music quite a bit. I have a foam ball over the microphone and put it on a dense foam mousepad to isolate it from table vibration and it doesn't seem to have much problems with pickup of unwanted noise like some people have commented. I was first attracted to the Yeti primarily for the four different modes of recording possible - the highly directional cardioid pickup pattern characteristic of most microphones, as well as bidirectional, omnidirectional, and stereo modes (note that the free program Audacity makes it easy to convert any mono track to one that plays through two speakers but it does not allow recording of differential source volume like the stereo mode of the Yeti microphone). The microphone therefore serves a number of recording needs, and no other single USB microphone except those made by Blue seem to serve these multiple needs, and of those made by Blue only the Yeti seems to have sufficient recording volume. Virtually all, if not all, other single microphones of any type made by any other company: USB or XLR or jacked, also do not serve these multiple needs. The omnidirectional mode of the Yeti, in particular, was essential for my uses of recording group music, and the stereo option refines even this omnidirectional recording capability in ways that I did not anticipate and which surpassed my expectations. Very good XLR microphones such as those made by Shure can be used through a 3.5mm input jack on a computer, but only when both external power and pre-amplification is provided using an expensive box (about $90) such as the Modeling Pre-amp made by Behringer. Using the Behringer box with Shure microphones to record on a computer via the 3.5mm jack is something I have done in the past with good success, but my newer computer has only a single 3.5mm jack serving either speakers or microphone, but not both at the same time, and therefore requires a USB microphone for simultaneous connection of wired devices for microphone input and speaker output, which is why I was forced into the search that lead to me buying the USB-connected Yeti. Unfortunately, it seems there is no power supply/preamp combination, even my Behringer, that can be use between an XLR or jacked microphone and a USB port. Note that this is a BIG microphone most suited for use on a desktop or on a microphone stand (it has a screw hole for attachment). It will obscure much of your head if hand-held. Finally, I note that all my experience has been with a Windows computers, using two different Windows operating systems (XP and 10) and two different computers, and that the results for all microphones I mentioned were the same on the two computers and for all of the three USB ports built into each of those two computers.

Hi - If You're reading this review then, like me, you're trying to decide if this is the right mic for you. The answer is, probably. Its a good sounding mic - sounding better than the $60 Blue Snowball and the cheaper Samson CU01 mic. If you want a mic for skype and you can envision putting it on your desk and never doing anything else with it, then this is THE mic for you. On the other hand, if you're going to do podcasting, voiceover work, understand what a shock mount does and think you'll want one some day, then this might be a chance to pick a different product. that's not to say the Blue Yeti isn't a fit, it's just not a great fit. But before I talk you out of it, let me preface by saying it really is a good mic - you're never going wrong if you pick the Yeti. That said, it's not the best fit for podcasting and here are a few things I've run into.... #1 size and form factor: Once you pull it off the included stand, it's actually still a very large, awkward microphone. #2 Shockmount: I've only seen one shockmount that works with this mic, it's nearly $60 and reviews say it doesn't work that well. #3 Use with a Desk stand: The Yeti looks nice in it's stand - if you decide you want to use the shock mount, you need to buy a new desk stand, so that adds another $13 to the price. If you're keeping track, that's approx $95 for the mic, plus $59 for the shockmount, plus $13 for a stand. $163 total. #4 Compatibility with Boom Arms - The USB and headphone ports are on the bottom of the yeti, along with the threading for an after market mic stand. Unfortunately this means that if you use the Yeti with a boom arm (and without the $59 shock mount) you'll need to use an extender to keep give the mic proper cable clearance. #5 Condenser technology. This is actually a blessing and a curse - I didn't fully understand this until I used my Yeti a bit then compared it to the sound of other mics. Condensers pick up the most minute, faint sounds. You would think this is good, because you can turn down the gain and talk close to the mic forcing the signal (your voice) to noise (the room, background noise etc) ration to be in your favor - and that would be true, if you didn't need to breath. As it turns out, speaking close to this mic makes it almost impossible to get a good recording that doesn't pick up a ton of your breathing sounds. So you need to exercise a bit of technique and skill when using this mic for vocal work - it's not impossible, just not easy, and coupled with the other items above it makes me think I should have sprung for a better mic. So in summary, this is a great Mic for a lot of different use cases. Even with the above limitations, I am convinced it's still your best option if you're only ever going to spend $100 on the mic. If you're going to do voiceover work/podcasting etc - and think the shockmount is something you'd want eventually - then this would be the time to look at other options. Among those - you can pair the samson $25 shock mount with a number of mics and come up with a lower total cost. Also worth digging deeper would be investigating Dynamic Microphones for voice use - apparently they are not as sensitive and as such don't pick up as much background noise.

This is my second Blue Yeti, and honestly, I’m impressed all over again. My first one was one of the originals, bought somewhere around eight years ago, back when these things first hit the scene. That mic lived a rough life. It survived backpack rides, road trips, and more “oops” moments than I’ll admit in print. It finally gave out after years of abuse, but considering what it went through, I can’t even be mad. The new one sounds just as good, maybe better, and the software is a nice upgrade. The voice filters are great for anyone who wants to sound like they know what they’re doing. There’s a broadcaster setting that gives you that warm “I host a late-night talk show” tone, plus podcast and voice-changer options. You can sound like a pro, a robot, or a robot hosting a podcast if that’s your thing. Durability-wise, this mic still feels like a tank. You can toss it in a bag, haul it to events, or set it up in your living room studio, and it’ll just keep doing its job. My one gripe is the mini-USB port. It’s 2025. We have self-driving cars and refrigerators that talk, but somehow this mic is still rocking mini-USB. Most people under 25 probably think that’s a fossil from a museum. I’m sure it made sense years ago, but come on, Logitech… it’s time. Sound quality? Amazing. It picks up everything. And I mean everything. Roommate sneezing three rooms away? Got it. Dog sighing dramatically? Crystal clear. Great for streaming and recording, occasionally hilarious for live streams. Voice isolation handles all of that as well as a really loud air purifier in the same room I stream in. Ok algorithm what do you mean by fit? See the algorithm wants me to mention certain aspects, fit is one of them. Umm it fits on my desk. Fits nicely on a standard boom arm. I think it even came with European and US mic stand adapters If you want a mic that lasts, is affordable, sounds incredible, and occasionally captures your neighbor microwaving dinner, the Blue Yeti’s still the one to beat. Oh… I got the blue one but there’s more colors available. It’s not a blue yeti just because it is blue. My first one was black..

One of the best microphones i have ever used!! the sounds are so crisp and this microphone can be used for gaming, streaming, youtube.,etc. easily connects to whatever you need to connect it too. It is definitely worth the money!

This microphone is a big step up from using a headset or a laptop’s built-in microphone. I’ve been using a Blue Yeti for about 5 years now and have never regretted buying it. I’m planning to upgrade soon, but the Blue Yeti had served me well. For the price, this is a very capable USB microphone. Anything that feels like a meaningful upgrade from here is usually at least double the cost and often requires moving to an XLR microphone and an external audio interface. There are definitely diminishing returns with microphones, and the Yeti sits at a good point in that curve. Build quality is solid overall. It does use micro-USB, which I’m not a big fan of, but it hasn’t caused me any issues over time. In terms of use, I’ve found it works best with the gain set very low and the mic positioned fairly close (around 3–6 inches from your mouth). Since it’s a condenser microphone, it is sensitive to room noise, especially in untreated spaces, so mic placement and gain control matter quite a bit. I would also recommend getting a pop filter as the mic will be sensitive to plosives. The mic also supports multiple polar patterns. I’ve mostly just used cardioid mode, but the option is there if you want to experiment with stereo or multi-person setups. Overall, this is a great option if you want a noticeable upgrade from a headset or laptop mic without moving into more complex audio setups. It’s easy to use, reliable, and good enough that upgrading beyond it only really makes sense if you’re specifically chasing higher-end audio quality.

By far the best mic I've owned & used up till now. As a YouTuber & Livestreamer on Twitch i'm always looking to improve the quality of my recordings & videos as best as I can but also be on a budget. For me the next step was to find a decent mic to help with my audio & the Blue Yeti has met all of my needs perfectly. I had tried other mics in the past before my Yeti but this mic exceeds all of them & for not a lot of money either. The mic itself is great & the build quality is of a really high standard, its pretty much ready to go straight out the box. One thing I really liked is that you have a few settings on the mic itself so it can capture sound from different directions or help block surrounding sounds by the twist of a switch on the back. The settings are... STEREO. Front/360 sound capture. best for vocals, choirs & instruments. CARDIOID. Forward only sound, this is what I use. best for podcasts, voiceovers, solo vocals & solo instruments. also helps block surrounding noise that isn't coming directly from the front of the mic OMNIDIRECTIONAL. Full 360 sound capture. best for conference calls, field recording & live events. BIDIRECTIONAL. front & back sound capture, best for interviews, duel podcasts & vocal duets. The mic also comes with a very strong & sturdy desktop stand but for me personally I decided to go with a actual mic stand so I can adjust height & move it around. Its really easy to swap over if you want to do the same, you just need to undo the two screws on the side, then the mic just screws on to the stand or boom arm in the thread that's on the bottom of the Yeti, also the stand I bought was just a normal generic mic stand from a music shop, so no special size threads or anything stupid like that. I bought my Yeti mic at the end of 2014 so as of now I've been using it for nearly two years & in that time I've made around 50+ videos with voiceovers for my YouTube channel & done over 1000+ hours of livestreaming with the Yeti to my Twitch channel, most of my live shows can last for anything up to 12hours each so I really put my Yeti to the test every weekend so i know its good quality & will last you a long time. Even now almost two years after my purchase it shows no signs of wear or lost any performance in sound quality. Very happy with my purchase, would buy again & recommend to others.

Amazing quality, surprised by how heavy it was, very robust. I get great comments on the mic quality. One customer asked what kind of bird I was keeping whilst on a video call. This was a bird outside in my garden tweeting, that is how sensitive it is. Would definitely buy again.
