STAEDTLERMars 571 Set of 3 Shapes of French Curves, 57140WP

Technically, it is exactly as advertised. It says it has 'inking edge' and it does. But only on one side. If you need to flip the curves over, you'll have to put something underneath it. I need both sides. My bad, I guess.

The various curves and sizes provide many uses. I use these for drawing out Armholes, Necklines, Dart Contouring, Waist Shaping, Hip Curves and Pattern Alterations. Always find the perfect smooth curve in all the options present.Only demerit is it is one sided. The bevelled edge makes it a little hard to draw on the opposite side with the French Curve flipped. Not impossible just not as smooth. Also since most patterns are drawn with only half the side, this doesn't pose too much of a problem.

These are thinner than what they should be. When you buy something like this you expect them to last awhile. These are thinner and brittle so don't know how long they'll last. So, 3 stars for durability, 5 for easy to use = 4 starsI should have opted for metal set.I'll update as time goes on.

The set arrived on time and was exactly as described. I have used it several times already and am very satisfied with my purchase.

It's well made and pretty cheap so I am happy with the purchase.

Like most things Staedtler, they work and feel great. Don't drop them on a very flat floor though. Mine landed bevel side down, and I couldn't pick it up, lol. The backs on these are perfectly flat, and the bevel made it impossible for me to pick up - I got a razor knife and was able to sneak it under one edge and lift enough to get a grip. I was irritated, laughing, and impressed with the quality all at the same time.

I bought this to do layout work in my woodworking. They work very well and gave me the results that I was looking for. Just not sure how durable they will be in the long run. Need to take care when using them and when storing them.

I use these for sewing. Doing neckines, armholes and... very good tools. If it didn't have the edge it would have been a much better product for me. but it does the job and it does it well.

The set of curves are very handy and I've used them with both pencil and rapidograph and they function fine, even have groove to ink if you flip the curves over!!! Staedtler make good products I've been using them for years
