Great set of stains. I ended up ordering some grams iodine to go along with it. Has a nice little booklet that gives you a brief overview of each.

Works as intended

Good set of stains, serendipitously helped me diagnose leishmaniasis the day after I received them. I got them because I thought they would be handy as all I had was iodine initially, and they were, it's nice having a selection to chose from in case you need different staining characteristics.

This was an excellent kit, I was able to use it to successfully identify my cultures easily. The only suggestions I have (and the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review) are as follows: 1. The kit should really contain Gram’s Iodine solution, it is necessary for almost all staining techniques so it seems strange not to include in this kit. 2. The kit should include better directions for beginners. I have some experience from college, but I had to use online references to refresh my memory. The included directions are not very good and they don’t give you any clear direction on reading results. Otherwise the price is great and the reagents themselves were perfect.

A good stain set. Comes with two different kinds of methylene blue, which can be useful. Comes with an SDS for each stain, which is also great. The stains work as they should.

These are professionally useful ( not just for beginners). But quite useful for beginners who want to learn how to use bacterial staining for microscopic examinations (of course you’ll need a microscope and a very understanding mother because unlike stains in kits designed for kids, these stains are the real McCoy ( they don’t wash out).
