Incipio Octane iPhone 8 & iPhone 7 Case with Textured Bumper and Hard Shell Back for iPhone 8 & iPhone 7 - Smoke/Black

This just arrived so I cannot attest to its durability. I will say, however, that this is the third Incipio case I have owned and the cases have always outlasted the phones! I have had cases for the iphone6, LG G4, and now this one for the iPhone 7. I am now a loyal customer because the cases have always proved to be well made, well fitted, and functional.This case fits on really easily and very well. The button covers are very easy to push. The case extends a bit in front of the phone face to protect the screen when it is laying face down. The exterior edge is a hard plastic, not rubber. It is not flexible or sticky but it is grippy none the less. It is probably better defense against falls than a rubber edge would be. It slides easily in and out of a bag or pocket and doesn't attract lint and hair. The back of the case is frosted so you don't have to worry about scrapes or smudges. You can still clearly see the color of your phone through it. Enjoy this case!

Incipio brand cases have always known to offer good protection to the phones and also to be of good quality. And this case certainly feels like both. I admire the black/smoke combination of the case. It matches the black colour of my iPhone 7 Jet black. The case is made out of 2 materials - a polycarbonate back and a TPU side wall. The hard plastic back offers a harder protection to the phone and the softer TPU would offer impact resistance during drops. I don't plan on drop-testing myself, but I believe the testing on these cases must be pretty thorough. Also, the case nicely contours the edges of the phone providing sufficient gap to the prevent scratches on the screen when the phone is turned upside down. However, the case does not make the phone bulky and helps maintain a slim profile on the phone.At $10, this case cannot be beaten as one of the most good-looking and protective cases for an iPhone.

This is a great, inexpensive case. It has a very sufficient lip on the front of the phone, and around the camera bump. I have a Trianium glass screen protector installed and it doesn't interfere with the case at all. The lightning port cut out is a good size, however I can see the cut out for the mute switch being hard to use if you have really short fingernails. The case fits like a glove, and feels very solid and protective without being super bulky.I purchased the Lavender color and it looks exactly like the picture. I have a rose gold iPhone and the color subtly peaks through the frosted back. Due to the texture of the case, I'm confident that it won't yellow over time.The only thing I was a bit disappointed with is the grip. After reading through reviews, I was expecting it to be far more grippy than it is. The back of the case is very slippery, and the sides aren't as textured as I was expecting.I think this is a fantastic case for the price (I got it for $12 on Amazon, but the retail price is $25). It feels solid, has a great design, and isn't too bulky while still being protective. However, if you're looking for a case that has a great grip factor...this just isn't it.

I will start off by giving this case 3 stars for it's grip. I think that is one of the things that is mostly ignored by cell phone case makers. I would rather not drop the phone in the first place, then to test the protection of the case. I have the matte black iphone and the Incipio case is smoke black. The Apple logo does not show thru the back of the case but that is not something I care about. The phone looks great in the case, the buttons are very responsive, and with the rigid back and sides I believe it provides good protection for a thin and light case. I do have a tempered glass screen protector that covers edge to edge on the screen. Some of the larger cases won't work with this type of screen protector, but the Incipio Octane does. If I had any complaint it would be that the lip around the screen allows for the phone to be placed face down, but is not extended enough to provide much protection for the screen. That is why I would recommend a good screen protector.

I really like the case. I've got two of them. One in the smoke black and one in the smoke clear. It provides great grip and looks good. The case is rated for a 6 foot drop, although with how thin it is that might be stretching it a bit on Incipio's part. Should be fine for the average user and everyday normal usage, however.

Great packaging, easy and is put back together smoothly. Phone case is really grippy, it's a tight fit but once the phone is in it isn't going anywhere unless you intend to take it out. Safely bumps above the front screen and camera bump to protect it and make your phone flat. Only problems are that the buttons are a bit stiff and might take 2 tries to press with one hand, and that the ringer hole is a bit small so trying to switch the ringer is hard. Other than that the cutouts and edges are perfect and it gives the phone a sleek look, would definitely recommend. (I haven't dropped my phone so I can't test its durability, but EverythingApplePro did a 50ft drop test with this case onto solid concrete and it surprisingly survived, so I have good faith in it.)

Case is great and quite possibly the best one in the incipio lineup. Good combo of grippiness and protection all while keeping a simplistic look. There are other cases out there that will be more protective than this, but a good value overall.

So I bought this last year 2017. I loved the case I wanted something semi clear and this worked perfectly. I’m one of those people who never removes their cases, so I haven’t taken it off since I bought it. Today July 15,2018 I decided to take it off and the rubber seperated completely from one side where to volume rockers are. So have to purchase another case. It’s still a great case I dropped my phone plenty of times and my phone never shattered. Just be careful when removing it.
