My ticket to fluent conversations
I'm a kind of English learner who is able to read academic handbooks, but often fails when it comes to communicate fluently in everyday English. I bought this book because it seemed to be useful for my purposes, and I'm really excited about it.It appeared to be more than perfect. It really skyrockets my spoken English, and my conversations with native speakers are now much more smooth and efficient. I've bought all books belonging to this series, because I'm completely sure that this is the best choice if I really want to move on with my learning process.

A practical book for learning about and applying idioms and collocations into our daily lives
Certainly one of the best reference guide for learning about collocations and idiomatic phrases! The context is clear and relevant to both the learner's needs as well as suited for teachers who want to take their teaching a step ahead. I really like the way the author has blended the functional use of idiomatic phrases and collocations into an easy-to-follow content all throughout the book. You also have practice exercises that makes it incredibly useful for self-study.

Poor job of proof reading
Initially I had given a thumbs up on this book but after using it, I have found numerous mistakes. Someone did not do his job in editing. Some common expressions you will find are missing needed articles. Words are used in the dialogues which do not make any sense such as using the word "treasury" for "treachery". These mistakes are so glaring. Plus, be warned, the dialogues will contain expressions that are not expressions used in the US, but in the UK. Trying to find material on line that is suitable for advanced ESL students is difficult so I have to say that even with its shortcomings, I have found it adequate.
