Good for putting clippings on a wall with small super (Neodymium) magnets
I got this largely to replace scotch taped clippings on my wall with 1/8" x 3/8" tall magnets holding clippings on my wall. This whiteboard gives my bedroom more brightness.Of course, you can also use a whiteboard marker to write on this board.Difficulties:1. Attach the plastic connectors first to the tray, then hammer the connectors-tray into the whiteboard frame. I did this in a different order, then used a rubber mallet to detach my attempt.2. You will not be able to attach this to 2 vertical studs (because the width won't accommodate the lower brackets matching part of the tray) and few walls have horizontal 2x4's behind the wall. I used a 1-1/4" (actually I could only find a 1-1/2" pan head screws at Home Depot), attaching the two left brackets to studs. I then used TapNLock Drywall Anchors by E-Z Ancor (from Home Depot) because they're the easiest to remove without pulverizing some wallboard, attaching the two right brackets to just the wallboard. You should probably predrill holes smaller than the screws. The directions said predrill 1/8" for the small screws they supply, but that seemed too large -- but screwing-in without drilling might split the oak frame. The first whiteboard had 2 small pits.Returning the first whiteboard was easy, automated, with no chance to assign fault to me.The second whiteboard had no pits. The hardware package in the box might have created the pits.Nonetheless, this was a warning about using super magnets on a whiteboard.Don't use too strong a super magnet;don't let the super magnet snap onto the whiteboard; andI put the super magnets only on a clipping I want there, so I don't put the bare magnet on the whiteboard itself.

Buyer Beware
The media could not be loaded. If I could give the boards zero stars I would. I ordered two of the 4' x 12' boards. One was damaged coming off the truck so it was returned immediately. The other board was installed by the maintenance staff at our school over Christmas break. In regards to the boards erase- ability I think it is decent. However, it is as flexible as cork board. The thinness of the board gives it absolutely no support. As soon as it comes out of the box it is flexing and bowing. The board that is currently hanging on my classroom wall is bowed out, see picture and video. I am still using the board because my old whiteboard was so damaged from the removal process that I didn't have a choice but to make this one work until a replacement arrived. A second board was finally received 2 months later to replace the one that was returned immediately due to obvious visual damage from shipping. I had hopes the new one would be able to be used to replace the warped one on my wall, unfortunately, it is also flexible. If there is a special way to hang this type of flexible board, it is not included on the sale site nor on any packaging received. This experience has been a nightmare not only for me and my students but also for my maintenance staff and others involved in the business department. The company I ordered through said they would not accept returns after 30 days. I was outside of the 30 day window because I was reliant on my maintenance staff to put it up and they wouldn't do it until Christmas break. By the time I came back into the building I was outside of the 30 day window by a couple weeks. I ended up having to file a claim through Amazon to get my money back.It is possible that the smaller boards are great, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing the large version. I've come to the conclusion that the only way to possibly make this large size board work would be to glue it to the wall surface. If that is the case, I believe that the sales site should clearly state that so that people know what to expect when they receive this item. They should include what type of glue would need to be used and possibly some directions. What I've learned is when making a purchase such as this, rely on a school vendor that has representatives that will stand behind their products.

This is why Amazon!
I purchased this board bc it is what I need. However, after two replacements and different freight companies I am still trying to get one that is done not damaged. The board is amazing, love it but the first one had a hole in the middle of the board and the second one a wrinkle thru the middle and a dent on the side too. After everything I have been thru Amazon was there, I lost all hope on shipping companies but Amazon has renewed my believe in why I “Amazon”.Thank you so much. Although I still don’t have the replacement, I have renewed my already strong faith in your company. Is hard to use a 10 ft white board with a hole or a wrinkle in the middle. Hopefully the third one comes intact.UpdateFor some reason we received a 4th board. I wasn’t aware we would and by the sounds of it neither was Amazon. But this time it was flawless. I called Amazon to make sure they knew bc this was as unpleasant for them as the freight companies and me. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. This is a beautiful board. Worth every penny. But be aware that freight is the one thing that caused the problems bc this is a large item but is not necessarily boxed to travel with all the other heavy things. All in all. Thank Amazon. You delivered!

Meh
The surface hardly feels premium, it feels like every other whiteboard surface I have worked with. While the unit can be mounted horizontal or vertical I will need to patch the dovetail cuts on the long edge that are there to mount the tray and there are no dovetails on the short edge for mounting the tray. The wood frame was not meant to be mounted portrait style.

Tray arrived damaged
The board arrives fine, but the tray arrived damaged and bent beyond use. The tray's box was not damaged on the outside. It appears the tray was bent when it was placed inside the box prior to shipment.

Sometimes you don't get what you pay for.
I thought I was paying a premium for a superior product; it's billed as a porcelain magnetic whiteboard. Sadly, superior it is not. The metal to which the porcelain is baked is of a gauge resembling tin-foil, but must have some ferrous content, as magnets do stick as advertised. Be gentle though, as pressing too hard, even with a whiteboard marker, may leave dents in the surface. The backing behind the metal surface must be foam or cardboard; it provides no structural support, is easily dented, and gives the product that cheap corner-cutting feel I was really going for. The unit arrived with nicks and scrapes on both the frame and the writing surface, not to mention said writing surface had been pushed away from the frame showing a large visible gap on one side; but best of all, until this purchase, I had not seen a porcelain whiteboard which cannot be erased without a liquid cleaner. It looks like porcelain, but compared to the steelcase whiteboard in my office, this is, dare I say, garbage. And no, I would not recommend this to a friend. I will search for a used office-quality whiteboard; this thing is coming soon to a craigslist near you.
