Never had a Casio or a digital watch, and I'm a fan now!
Over all these decades, I've owned cheap quartz watches, midrange watches, expensive automatics and smart watches/trackers. However, over the last 10 years I've been a Fitbit user mainly. Recently, my Charge 5 came apart sitting in a hot tub since I forgot that these smart watches don't go well with hot water. Anyway, I was shopping for a Rolex thinking I'll go back to traditional automatics, and not track my every little move or sleep, but for some reason I just couldn't make a rational argument for buying it. Since I'm taking a break from the data overload, I also didn't want the Charge 6, they also keep taking away features from Charge 4 to Charge 5 and now to 6. I needed a beater watch and Casio kept coming up in reviews and this was it. The Casio AE1200WHB in green! It takes some time figuring out how to set up time, zones, DST, date etc. I watched a YouTube video and it was super easy after that. For a first Casio, and a traditional watch (although digital), I like it a lot. Green is an "in" color these days and this is a great combo. The strap feels a little cheap and so is the plastic build quality but for the price it's par. Great readability, light can be set for 1 or 3 seconds and shows 4 time zones in the quick setting with a lot more on the other menus. I still have to figure out over the long term, whether I will go back to Fitbit again or not. And small things like whether the date and time will change automatically on months with 30 days or when DST switches etc. For now this is my daily go to watch. Give it a try, you'll like it. It's a honest watch. 5 stars.

Not waterproof!
Disappointed, had this watch for 5 months and it’s been great, really loved it. However, I finally got the chance to get into some water with it and the screen has now gone foggy. Can’t seem to contact anyone for help, so be careful when buying.

This popular wristwatch punches waaaay above its price point.
I AM a Casio watch fan…so there’s that. With that in mind, here is my well-informed review of one of Casio’s best efforts, and best value watches coming from a 30+ year Casio customer and owner/wearer of about 15 Casio watches presently. This model is an amazing piece of tech for less than a pair of blue jeans….and will serve the time conscious well for many years to come. Provides lotsa of info at-a-glance, this module offers: time, day, date, time-zone (via map display) and even a digitally represented “analog” clock which stays on your home time zone despite whichever OTHER easy to access time-zone youve switched to without hitting any of the large, easy to reach “pushers” (or “buttons” as a Casio newbie probably may them). In fact the pushers on this watch are a far cry better than those on many more expensive Casio “G-Shock” models, Casios premium line of watches. They are used for adjusting time, timers, alarms, time zones, daylight savings and more, and also operate the most excellent “lume”, or backlight feature. There are 4 pushers on this, and most Casio watches, some of the very inexpensive models have 3, but most 4. Of course timekeeping accuracy is so close to EXACT, for most of us, its not even worth talking about. But unlike a smart watch, or any “atomic-timekeeping” equipped watch, this will lose or gain a second or three over a months time. Inconsequential for all but a very few few watch owners. Casio offers Atomic-Timekeeping on several watches which adjusts automatically every day with one of a handful of gov’t run atomic clocks throughout parts of the world….this watch isnt so equipped but fantastically accurate nonetheless. Comfortable to wear, water-proof to moderate levels and a battery which actually DOES last the advertised 10 years, often longer. The case and crystal are high quality plastic, so they tend to scuff/scratch/show signs of designed use easily enough but this isnt fragile in any sense of the word. Quite the contrary in fact. I often replace the included resin strap (watchband) with a nicer, aftermarket one. This is a very popular and common thing to do among many Casiophiles. Among my Casio watches, all of which get worn regularly, this is my favorite model. I have 2 of these, in different colrways, if that says anything I haven’t.
