Q: Are Postsaver rot protectors compatible with concrete post mix?

Yes. All posts with rot protection applied to them can be installed with concrete post mix.

Q: How does Postsaver rot protection work?

Rot protectors create an air and watertight seal around the critical first 6"/15 cm below ground. This dual-layer rot protection seal system excludes all the factors required for decay to occur (oxygen, fungi and moisture), guaranteeing against rot.

Q: What sort of hot air gun or blow torch do I need for rot protector application?

You need a minimum of a 2+ KW hot air gun or a gas blow torch with a non pencil-tip flame. If applying rot protectors to a square post, you'll also need a foam roller to ensure adhesion to the flat sides of the post.

Q: Why do rot protectors not cover the bottom of the post?

Below 6 inches or 15 cm in the ground, there is not enough oxygen for the fungi required for decay to survive; this means there is no need to protect the post below this point.
