The Jungle by Upton Sinclair

Interesting Read; Bad Book
I had not read Sinclair's seminal novel that was a spark in changing the way people saw the meat packing industry at the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries and actually led to regulatory changes. So I was pleased to read it. The actual text though, as published by Amazon, came in microscopic print on cheap paper. It really was a challenge to read a book this poorly manufactured -- so, in summary, very interesting novel, very bad edition.

A real eye-opener.
The start is very difficult, but worth persevering. The Amercan Dickens crossed with Michael Moore.

Labor and Immigrant Abuse
I have to confess that my brother is a "libertarian" who spends his days in retirement listening to FOX and the other fascists on "talk radio". While brain washed, I have to confess that in his case it only took a slight rinse. I read this book for the second time and sent it to him. While I didn't expect him to read it, his grand daughter did read it and now she understands the labour movement.
