Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Perfect book for my grandson.

Lovely illustrations and classical narrative.

A classic with beautiful illustrations. A wonderful read aloud.

We love all of Jan Brett's books! Full of her beautiful, detailed illustrations of which those on the border are so fun to look at. She does such an excellent job with her books that readers and listeners of all ages will be engaged.

While looking for fairy tales for granddaughter I noticed there are so many versions now days of these books and quite a few cartoony or not very well done. This version is just what I was looking for, true to the story and great art work. For me beautiful illustrations are part of the story and memorable stories has the great art work to go with them so when I found this book I knew it was the perfect Goldilocks and the Three Bears book for our granddaughter. I want her to experience the fairy tales with great books as we had when we were children. This is it.

This is the original story, well told. I rate it at 4, versus 5, stars, though, because of the illustrations. Although absolutely beautiful, from an artistic point of view, they are a little complicated, from a child's point of view. For instance, there is an illustration of Goldilocks sitting on Papa Bear's chair, but no illustration of Mama Bear's chair or Goldilocks trying it out. Same for the beds. The main illustrations are framed with smaller illustrations which seem to be referencing all that Goldilocks does, but I bought this book for my two year old (who LOVES it), and I think it would be clearer for him if it had more explicit illustrations.

Board books for young children are great. Brett's illustrations are beautiful. Gave several titles to different families for Christmas.

My 2.5 year old son absolutely loves this book. He asks to read it a few times a week, if not every day. It’s also fun to read because the illustrations are so beautiful. So happy this is the Goldielocks book we purchased!

a classic

An extremely beautiful edition of a classic story. You don't often see illustrations like these anymore. They're a real pleasure to look at, and the colors are soft rather than overly bright like in so many modern books. The story itself holds my child's attention from start to finish. It's simple enough for toddlers to follow but still entertaining. A wonderful addition to our shelf.

This would be suitable for a slightly older child - I got it for a 2-year-old, but I think maybe age 4 and up would be more suitable. The pictures are incredibly detailed and absolutely beautiful, and the story is nice and traditional without any added modern extras!

There are so many books about Goldilocks and the three bears and it can be hard to choose which one to get for your kids. This one was always my favorite when I was a child and I was excited to buy it for my kids as well. The illustrations are absolutely amazing and the story is the classic version.
