Baby Loves Aerospace Engineering! (Baby Loves Science)

Just a board book with flying sounds
It's just a board book with flying sound words. I ordered too quickly without vetting it. The publishers have simply hyped it by jumping on the girls in STEM career band wagon. There isn't much to the book. As an educator and librarian buying for my own granddaughter I knew how to evaluate a book, I simply bought online quickly and didn't properly evaluate it. I'd like more books of substance for my granddaughters that will actually encourage them to seek any career they choose. First books are useful when they pair colors, shapes, sounds and images to get the first steps in reading firmly in place. Oh look! a big white airplane, A for airplane, Airplane, A. White, W ...and so on. A book showing parts of an airplane or rocket ship would have also been more appropriate. Just putting onomatopoeia in a book and labeling it baby loves science is just wishful thinking. I kept it because once the 10 month old grabbed onto it I didn't take it from her, plus she'd chewed it immediately. But I should have read it first when the baby wasn't present and returned it. Science explains our world. I'll be looking for simple books that show our world in the future.

Excellent board book
I'm an aerospace engineer and I approve this message. I love that it's a girl character and it keeps things simple yet factual.

Yes I am a Rocket Scientist, this book is wrong.
I bought this book for friend of mine who is pregnant with her first baby. We are both Aerospace Engineers and yes she is a Rocker Scientist. This book is poorly writing. Not only is the English and grammar bad, the information isn't accurate. I dont recommend this book.

Gets kids interested in science :)
I purchased this book for my two-year old niece. This book explains the concept of lift (The top of her wing is curved, the bottom of her wing is flat!), propulsion (Fuel+Oxygen+Heat=Gas), and the differences between birds, planes, and jets.It is a cute little book, clearly intended to get kids interesting in science more than to actually explain complicated concepts to babies. I'm also a sucker for kid's books that have diverse characters. The child in the book has brown skin with brown curly hair. The book has 20 pages, and uninterrupted it takes less than two minutes to read aloud.

Great book!
Wonderful book! My 1- and 3-year-old kids love this book. The concepts are kept simple so they can really absorb the mechanical lesson and the characters are engaging and keep them interested. The book begins with a blue bird and explaining how it flies. The bird is then a constant character through the end, flying in the plane and rocket as well as the book simply explains how those objects fly. My kids just love that bird, they wave to it as it blasts off in the rocket ship.

Great pictures. Lovely book
Not sure about how well the bird plays into the story, but I love the pictures and this series in general. This series in general doesn’t use explicitly female or male characters. It’s hard to tell if the character is a boy or a girl… since gender isn’t central to the story. My boyfriend was reading a different book from the series (Coding) to our son. He had read the same words from the same book many times before. He stopped at the pronoun and repeated it twice “her”. “How come I never noticed it before? The character is female.” I asked him it it mattered. He said “no, it just surprised me.” I smiled. Hopefully by reading more books like this with his dad, my son won’t be “surprised someday.” Male and female roles are interchangeable after all.

The babies in the pictures are fun for him to look at
My 3 month old LOVES these books. The babies in the pictures are fun for him to look at. He will listen to the story from start to finish. We started reading this book to him when he was just 3 weeks old and it has held his attention from the start. I even learned something new! The pictures are colorful and the content is well written, I can't wait to add activities to support the text when he gets older. We all love the illustrations!

Simple text and beautiful illustrations
The simple text and beautiful illustrations are perfect to introduce physics of flight.

This book has all my toddler's favourites... a bird, a plane, a rocket, stars and moon!! It couldnt be more perfect for him and I'm hoping he's learning a bit as we read this book (over and over and over again). A big hit!

Great book. I am not Elons Musk mother but if I was this would be our nightime Baby Elon reading (and I would also get him the How to Spoil your Mum when you are a Millionaire book)

Nice
I have read this to both my 4 month old and 4 year old. My youngest likes looking at the pictures and seems to get excited when I bring this book out for some reason. Perhaps the colours are attractive to him. My 4 year old likes to sit beside us while we read it and give his input - “a plane can’t flap its wings!”. They both enjoy this book more than others in the series.

And now baby gets how birds fly
Perfect introduction to the subject for a 1 year old. Birdie makes all the concepts more believable and relatable. Hopefully he will be able to explain how birdie and rockets fly to his friends at nursery soon enough, when he talks.
