Crude piece of metal shape, does the job well

Old bicycle pedal rod
This is an old, used bicycle pedal rod. NOT stainless steel. Forged crudely and painted. I am skeptical if this metal is food safe.I have had similar one earlier. This one is not as good as the old one. This is not comfortable to use.
