If you weren't able to visit the Volez, Voguez, Voyagez Louis Vuitton exhibit, this book is the closest thing to experiencing it.Louis Vuitton has an old and rich history. I personally didn't know much about this luxury brand, other than coveting some of their pieces. After visiting the exhibit I have a newfound appreciation of their craftsmanship and designs.If you missed the exhibit, or want a nice coffee table book, this is a terrific book to add to your library. Recommended.

Tick tock. Tick tock. Time is running out, and the definitive Louis Vuitton exhibit will conclude on January 7th. Don't just sit there - Go see it.This exhibit has been around the world, and it concludes here in Manhattan -- and then, as I understand it, the contents will be dispersed. But on the plus side -- This exceptional, beautiful book has memorialized the entire exhibit for attendees, and others. This multi-language book provides heroic photographs of many of the lavish/rarefied items from the exhibit, plus more. Vintage ads, archival sketches, behind-the-scenes stories about the famous and infamous owners of the specially-commissioned trunks, photos, history, etc. A high-quality volume a la Assouline, a worthy "catalog" for an Exhibit that is more like an "Event". Both are meticulously-envisioned and delivered. Although (non-flash) photos were allowed in the galleries, many of the installations were staged within vast theatrical spaces (some with moving elements of video, etc) so the fact that this catalog provides astute/atmospheric photos of the installations was a total plus.......a rare and thoughtful inclusion. This is a book that upholds and affirms the enduring brand of Louis Vuitton -- but also provides more-than-a-gaze into the world of gracious travel and bygone luxury.

Fantastic book showing the development of the Louis Vuitton brand.It's all here. Trunks, bags, purses.Interesting to note that not only did they craft what are considered the traditional LV travel trunks but also some gorgeous aluminium & brass as well.Copiously illustrated throughput with beautifull photographs, this book is recommended to anyone With an interest in VT.

Ein wirklich sehr schönes Buch, welches man gerne in der Sammlung haben möchte. Aber auch der Inhalt kann überzeugen. Sehr schöne Bilder und tolle Aufmachung!

Ce n'est pas toujours le cas avec la prestigieuse Maison Assouline, mais ici l'ouvrage est en plusieurs langues (en petits caractères). Les images sont soignées et vont bien au delà de l'exposition, les campagnes de publicité et l'historique de la maison sont évoqués par des archives. Excellente lecture au papier glacé de luxe et bon choix en première lecture pour la découverte de la marque LV.

El libro es pequeño, pero tiene acabados y contenidos excepcionales, es ideal para tenerse exhibido. La cubierta es de tela y papel.
