Clean, quick and easy to prepare for whatever use.
It is a lot easier than hauling around a big bag of soil or peat plus it's good for the peat bogs and environment

Under 5 minutes to make
The bocks arrive individually wrapped so idea if you don't have the space to store a bag of compost or lifting bags of compost as the dried bricks are light weight. The details of how to use are just on a sticker on the box which states add 3-4litres of water. I tried first with 3 litres and the bottom of the brick absorbed the water but the top which was then pushed up from the compost made was dry so I added another litre. So I would say its closer to 4 litres than 3 litres of water. The made compost doesn't feel soaking wet but you can squeeze it and water comes out. It took around 1 minute to absorb the initial water which I should add was warm water I used, and then I added more. I found I needed to get my hands in and break it up and mix it so no dry lumps, all in its all done in under 5 minutes. The made compost is lacking nutrition really for plants to grow well in it, so I made sure I put some seaweed extract into the water to add that nutrition, but expect this wont last long and wash out. If using for planting I would add some slower release fertiliser into it or add some leaf litter or similar broken down organic matter to add some nutrients. Its clearly priced for convenience, as you could purchase bags of compost for less, it would be ideal to bulk up maybe some home made compost or other compost to make it go further. I have previously used this sort of compost to make a living vivarium for a reptile so its good for that as contains no nasty chemicals or fertilisers so wont harm the animal.

What a good idea supplying peat free compost as easily as this.
O³ Coconut Soil – Pressed Peat Free Coconut Fiber for Planting 6 x 650g (54 L)Priced at £14.99 at the time of the review. There are lots of suggestions on gardening programs to go peat free with your garden compost.I have always found this difficult as the substitutes have seemed difficult when it comes to watering and just runs through the flowerpot leaving the compost still dry.I have mixed it with normal peat compost to help this.I will be interested to see how this manages as it suggests the same thing. To start you just place a dry brick in a standard size bucket and then add up to a maximum of 4 litres of water and they suggest warm water.Within 10 minutes all the water is absorbed and the compost appears just like normal compost. It is amazing that it gives you over half a bucket or 9 litres of just right crumbly compost which is just right for potting on.Also not mentioned is the fact that you could add the correct amount of liquid feed plant food to the 4 litres of water as it is without nutrients and this will give your plants a good start.I am very impressed and will try to use less peat in future as this is such an easy solution. At £2.50 for a brick it is probably a little bit more expensive than a ready bagged compost from the garden centre but it is a very convenient way to buy it.

Compact and convenient if you are space limited
This pack of 6 bricks of peat free coconut fibre comes in a small cardboard box, a lot smaller, cleaner and easier to handle than a big bag from a garden centre. All you need to do is decide how many you need and unwrap them from their cellophane packs, put 1 at a time into a 10 ltr bucket and add 4 litres of warm water which has been mixed with some appropriate plant food and wait 20 minutes! My partner is constantly in her green house and this is a great product because she can have it to hand and bulk out her compost with it as and when needed without pestering me to stop at the garden centre on my way home.AS long as you keep in mind this is nutrient free, so for most things to grow well in it you will need to add to it, which in truth is easy enough. interesting substance. Swells up a lot not sure of its water hold ability
This on the face of it looks promising as from little bricks a whole washing up bowl of matter was produced but unlike compost the water rushes out so im not sure this is quite the thing to grow plants in.Its a bulking agent perhaps nothing more. Im trying to grow veg in it i will update review in a few weeks which are needed to determine if this is anything more than a pointless matter to use in place of compost.

Brilliant idea
Super easy to use and creates wonderful fluffy soil. These bricks are great you just placed them in your plant pot and then cover them in water overtime them is on the water and grow and grow and grow and grow. Are use them to plant out some flowers a month ago and the flowers are thriving. It’s a great product and with this order I received six bricks. Perfect eco-friendly soil that plants will love.
