Love this book
Very cute story that circles around and ends where it begins. Adorable for young and old.

10/10 must have book for your home library! Most egg-cellent!
I highly recommend adding Gladys the Magic Chicken to your personal library. We originally found it at the library, but it quickly because an absolute favorite and needed a permanent place in our house! It's a silly, engaging, and lighthearted story about a chicken that may or may not be magic. Gladys lives with a shepherd boy on a mountain, but goes on an incredible adventure where she has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. This book has more than just a traveling merchant, brave swordsman, learned princess, and fearsome pirates; it's filled with Adam Rubin's amazing story telling and writing style. The illustrations are vibrant and humorous and Gladys' song is catchy enough to have us singing it through the day.

Great Story & Artwork
Originally checked this book out from our local library. The story is cute and the artwork is goid. My 2 1/2 year old kept asking to read this story after we had returned it to the library so I bought it for him!

The whole family loves this one!
The story and illustrations captured the whole family! Even my husband laughed at the shepherd boys “magical” transformation and the characters twists of “fate.” It’s a perfect read aloud.

Stellar art and clever story, but
Who doesn't like chickens you can tuck under your arm and run around with, right? We saw this sold-out book showcased at a book fair and ordered it online for our 10-yr old chicken owner/lover. Overall, we weren't disappointed but it doesn't rank 5 stars. The she-pirate/ship's captain who appears on multiple pages is oddly male in appearance and distracts from the book's fun story line and otherwise-awesome art.

Awesome book!!
My granddaughter age 6 adores this book. It’s funny and fun and she asks for it to be read multiple times per night. We found it at the library and she loved it so much that she said she was going to return it and take it back out again right away so she never had to bring it back. So now she has her very own copy.

Clever
This charming book reads like a folktale, with beautiful illustrations, and a hint of humor. We really enjoyed Gladys’ adventures.

My 7 and 5 year olds give this rave reviews. Adam Rubin once again succeeds in making a book that is fun for kids and parents too!
