Great product! Will order more in the future.
Wow! I’m impressed. Easy to fill. Easy to use. Easy to carry. I use water at a temp just before it’s boiling. It keeps my bed warm all night till the morning. Came with a nice soft cover. The plug works well. Yes there is a rubber smell, but it doesn’t bother me very much and is dissipating over time. Wish I had bought this sooner.

Durable and no unpleasant rubber smell
This was a great size for an adult. In winter when the power goes out nothing is better than being cozy in bed with a hot water bottle.

Satisfied.
A post-script to the review below. I was impressed that the folks at Peter Pan contacted me about the problem below. Apparantly this problem is very unusual and is due to the high rubber content. Rubber is better for retaining heat in my ever so humble opinion. I would recommend this item wholeheartedly. I've been using this nightly and I like it.. It holds the heat very well and the ribbed surface. So I'm pleased with my purchase.Really good size. One problem: When I tried to fill it the first time I discovered the inner walls were stuck together which stopped water from entering so water would just gush ou again. Luckily I was using not very hot water. Could haveen nasty! By slowly allowing warm water to run into the bottle and by pushing a wooden spatula down inside, I got the walls to separate. No problems since.

Amazing technology!!
My doctor advised me to get a heating pad and/or a hot water bottle to ease the pain in my back. The electric heating pad was fast but even on medium it got very hot, even when covered with its little slipcover and a dish towel. I disliked the way the heat felt sharp and realized I also didn't like the idea of being draped in electrical wires for even a short period of time. Browsing Amazon, I looked up rubber hot water bottles. Weren't that many still made of rubber, but of the few I found this one by Peter Pan stood out. It is 56% rubber instead of a synthetic material de jure and thru the text and reviews I got an education on how to use one. But I wasn't prepared for how terrific this rather antiquated piece of equipment is. It can be filled about 3/4 full with boiling water. If you squeeze out the remaining air before you screw in the plug the bottle will remain warm and cozy 7 hours later! It is very hot to the touch after you've filled it, so the handle on the shoulder makes so much sense because it makes the filling and handling much simpler, safer and less awkward than the cheaper version I got at the drug store (which had no handle and would not allow boiling water.) Peter Pan sends along a little cloth case with a zipper closure to keep it properly fitted to the bottle. I quickly came to appreciate this the first time I filled it as initially the bottle is piping hot. But the thing that has amazed me most is the glorious comfort of the heat radiating from this water bottle. It is so soothing and comfortable on aching muscles...way more pleasant than a stiff rectangle of cloth containing stiff electrical wires. Now I confess, at seventy-five, I'd never used a hot water bottle before, so perhaps those who have will not be surprised at my revelation. But for those of you who haven't, if you need the relief of some steady, soothing heat on sore, painful joints and muscles, and want to avoid EMF exposure, treat yourself to this sturdy, well made, rubber hot water bottle. Such a simple, practical and enduring technology from the nineteenth century! It greatly aided in my recouperation, but now I'm using it nightly since it's equally great in a chilly bed for cold feet!

Rolls Royce of hot water bottles?
My wife and I prefer sleeping in cold, drafty rooms, in beds laden with blankets. Hot water bottles have been a big deal for us since childhood. So, it was with some trepidation that I ordered this bottle, especially since there were so few reviews. I received it today and I am delighted. There is nothing about it I would change. It is obviously designed and manufactured by hot water bottle aficionados. I have it on my lap now. It is filled with nearly boiling water, and it smells like a new hot water bottle should: a very mild rubbery smell that I expect will go in a week or so. I doubt that I could find a better hot water bottle. This is just like the ones my parents had: good, sturdy design. The surface is covered by thin ribs (around 1/16 inch deep and spaced around 1/8 inch apart). When you touch the bottle, you touch the ribs rather than the hot surface. The heat emanates from between the ribs. The stopper is plastic (possibly nylon) and it screws into what appears to be a brass opening. The handle makes filling the bottle much easier and safer. When filling the bottle for the first time, I noticed that the inner sides of the bottle had adhered to each other. I put in as much water as I could, put on the stopper, then jiggled the bottle. After repeating this procedure a few times, the inner sides had separated and the bottle could be fully filled. I shall update this post if I run into any problems, but I am not expecting any. Thank you, Peter Pan. You made something simple but you made it very well.

Water Bottle?
Water bottle? I won't be drinking out of this.. Anyway.. (heh).I have an interest in non eletrical heating soloutions. I used some hand warmer style heating pads and the pads were less warm than the hand warmers themselves, I had to used hand warmers to support the pads. So with that I looked around and came across the good ol' hot water bottle, but now modernized with a handle, better funnel and an included cover!! I filled this with (nearly) boiling water and it did everything I needed it to do and for even longer than I expected. This truly lasts overnight (outside of winter)
