Good for improvised, flushed lids
While pricier than name brand terrarium lid clamps, I was curious to see if this style worked for my DIY acrylic lid that sits flush inside the groove of the glass tank black rim. I had to use this clamp upside-down so the clamp part hugged the bottom of my tank rim, and so the adhesive stuck to the top of the acrylic lid. I’m glad to have found a solution for my DIY lid. Just make sure if you have a set up like mine that you place that adhesive portion as far in as you can to create as much tension as possible against the rim.

Too small to fit on a standard 10 gal with wire mesh lid.
I ordered these for an inexpensive, common 10 gal with a wire mesh lid and these patches will not reach over the top because of how small they are. I was beyond excited about these until I tried to apply them and there is no way they can work. It seems like they’re made for a specific tank and lid yet that isn’t specified.
